On a serious note though Neil talks the way he does because he was raised to be deeply hostile to other people and has no self-respect worth mentioning.
You know the saying, "If you cant say something nice, don't say anything?" Well Neil doesn't know how to say anything nice. That's why when he actually wants to be social, he tends to just shut the hell up so he can't ruin the moment. The best he can manage is yapping about exy.
And he doesn't give a shit when people insult him because he doesn't believe there's anything worse for him to be than alive. Seth, Riko, Kevin, they call him worthless and a waste of air—each for their own reasons—and deep down he doesn't disagree. He thinks he's a bad person who doesn't deserve to live, but being bad means he's not obligated to help the world by offing himself.
Neil is rarely insulted by the digs people make about him as much as he is annoyed by having to hear it. He only retaliates when somebody pokes at people he considers actually worthy of respect, like his mother or the foxes. And when he does retaliate, he rarely refutes any of it, preferring to launch grenades meant to get everybody arguing and forget where the conversation started.

i will defend that fictional teenage girl with my life. i literally don’t even care what she did. you would’ve done it too if you were her she’s probably handling things better than you would in her shoes

Retro Game Room Version 2 I needed to patch the walls and paint, so I thought I might as well change it all up.
23 different consoles and handhelds, about 450 old games. Framemeister xrgb-mini upscaler so it doesn’t look bad on a new tv, handmade custom MAME cabinet, and a fuzzy chair and fuzzy carpet :)
A lot of work, and a lifetime of collecting!

the insane experience of missing a fictional character . like you can always go back and reread the book , replay the game , rewatch the show or movie , you can always go back & see them , but you can never experience them & their story for the first time again . its absurd to miss them because they'll always be there , but you'll miss when there were still new things for them to say .
for a small time they were real & growing and changing and you hung onto every new word, but now all they can do is repeat the same story forever&ever & they're not real anymore because you know everything they're going to do. & you miss them. its fucked man...

I think the difference in the DMing styles of Brennan Lee Mulligan and Anthony Burch (and why I favor Anthony’s) is Brennan is (literally) the camp counselor that’s gonna have a great attitude and make double damn sure everyone’s having fun and has sunscreen, while Anthony is more like that one kid who sets up elaborate, ill-advised games/contraptions in his backyard that have resulted in multiple accidents and injuries to the other kids of the neighborhood but without fail those kids are back once the casts are off cause that shit is fun as hell

it distresses me greatly that people with 20/20 vision can’t choose to see everything as blurry. like wdym you can’t just take off your perfect vision when seeing is too much??

It's very interesting to me that they seemingly purposefully juxtapose Spike with other vampires several times in season 2 in ways that not only make him more human but also less evil. I don't just mean the Judge saying that he has humanity or his team-up with Buffy in "Becoming" (though those also contribute). He came to the hellmouth to help nurse his sick partner back to health. He allows several potential victims to be freed in order to save Drusilla from Buffy in "Lie to Me". He actively discourages it when Dru wants to torture one of their minions in "Surprise". He gifts Dru a necklace in "Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered", juxtaposed to Angel's gift of a human heart. He pets the dog that Dru gives him as a snack instead of eating it in "Passion". He repeatedly tells Angel to stop toying with Buffy and seemingly thinks that psychologically torturing someone (rather than fighting them outright) is lame.
Some of this is obviously to show just how unbelievably evil soulless Angel is, but it also implicitly tells the audience that Spike is capable of acting selflessly for the people he cares about (Dru), he doesn't care much for torture, and can even do something that is ostensibly good (helping save the world) if he is given a reason to, which directly contradicts what we are told vampires are capable of. It fits very well with where they take him in future seasons but it is kind of crazy that they were doing this with a character that was initially only meant to appear in 5 episodes.

I know I'm looking at this from a 2025 lens, but Joyce, I feel like if you say to your 17 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, "you walk out of this house, don't even think about coming back," you've waived your right to be angry at her when she runs away from home.

Fascinated by the idea that Buffy and Spike both think they’re the monsterfucker of the relationship.
