"Charismatic Cat"
Cats have their own little personalities and can often be very charismatic, using this quality to charm you into petting and feeding them. In this painting, the cat featured is a charismatic black cat who is hoping to capture your heart with a look of endearment.

I remember this ride being a favorite of mine. When I was a kid, I would get off of this ride and then run back around to wait in line to ride it again.

I think humans have always tried to find ways to replicate the feeling of soaring through the sky like a bird. This ride might be where it all begins for us as children.
"Flying Elephants"
Carnival Ride series (2025)
Acrylic on canvas panel, 8x10 inch.
I have just a couple more of this series left to reveal now. These carnival ride paintings have been a personal challenge to myself to help me let go of perfectionism.

I look forward to sharing the rest of the series soon.

This ride looks so enticing, but was it a ton of fun, or did it make you toss your elephant ear?

Normally, the objective in driving is to not hit anything. But, in bumper cars, feel free to take out your neighbor. It's all in good fun, right?

Summer is now in full swing where I live. Each summer when I was growing up, I looked forward to riding these rides. This painting is part of a five piece series I've been working on.
I hope you all are enjoying your summer!

This is my original artwork, "Morning Cat." This drawing was inspired by a black cat who is always up at dawn ready to play. I used my colored pencils and pastels to create this 8x10 inch portrait, which shows the light of the morning sun shining on the cat's face.

Here are some images from my drawing "Morning Cat." I may not be a morning person but I still try to get up early to spend time with my feline friend, who is a morning cat.

We all know that some people are morning people, but did you know there are morning cats?
This original artwork was inspired by a black cat who is always up at dawn ready to play. This kitty loves having a good run, back and forth through the house, chasing hair ties, and waits each morning for her human to come out and play.
This realism drawing, "Morning Cat," was created with oil pastels and colored pencils on a durable 140lb watercolor paper, size 8X10 inches.

This is "Shy Kitten." I used my colored pencils and pastels to create this portrait of a shy little tuxedo kitten sitting in the grass looking bashful and sweet. It reminds me of the time I went to go pick out my kitty, Sundae. She was so shy and timid when we first met, she hid under a trampoline.

I'm trying out some new art supplies, water-soluble pencils and pans from the Derwent Inktense line. I decided to use one of my sand dollar photos, from a trip to Birch Bay (2022), as a reference.
"Low Tide"
8x10 inch artwork, created with watercolor paint / pencils.
This is the other piece I had considered making when I made my first sand dollars drawing, in 2022. I finally got around to it. Here are some details for "Low Tide."

This is my painting "Bird Watcher." I find the nature of cats to be interesting and even hilarious at times. I believe that the cats also think we humans behave strangely. Although they can't laugh at us, I bet they think, "Silly humans."
