I also though that at first but hate to break it that Beth has long bike socks on and the leg across vivs lap is an adidas trainer with short socks. I think she’s just got her legs crossed and Viv has her hand on Beth’s thigh unless she’s resting her leg on her where we can’t see.

I have been trying so hard to find the balance between confusing but not infuriatingly so, with enough clues that you have an IDEA what happened, but no exact details. The fact that you’re going back to find those means SO much to me

As far as heartbreaking… yes, it is. But so would this scenario be if it were real! I am actively working on the next part but I’m not happy with it yet. Need to ponder more on how exactly this Viv would react to this situation. I think my current draft is a bit melodramatic if I’m honest

Are you worried Beth’s now been dropped to 4th place winger? I understand Sarina not starting her, I think you can’t really deny how well that front three worked, but Kelly being subbed on before her didn’t make much sense to me. She definitely wasn’t happy on that bench either whenever they zoomed in on her

I don’t think that Beth being benched means that Sarina blames her for the last match result. Or that this is the beginning of the end.

In team selection you’ve got to consider your team, the opponent, AND future matches in tournaments like these. That involves resting players and playing people to make sure they don’t panic when they get on the field if they aren’t starters.

Beth look disappointed, sure. I think anyone who is frequently a starter and wasn’t selected would feel the same way. I would be more concerned if this were Renee, to be honest. She’s shown a pattern of not playing Beth over an extended period of time when she seems to be the best choice. One England match in a packed tournament against an opponent Sarina knows well, and we know she rates Beth? No, I’m not really worried. We’ll see what happens going forward, but I don’t think it’s the doomsday marker or anything

I'm honestly in such a bad mood after that match. It's so frustrating when a game ruins my mood this much and there's nothing I can do about it. It was so bad. I'm seriously going to cry if we don't make it through. But if the score between France and Wales stays like this, then we still have a really good chance. I'm really, really hoping both the Netherlands and England go through. Also, the questions from the Dutch media about Beth and Viv really annoyed me and all the fuss around it, like just focus on the football.

Frantic from start to finish, couldn’t do anything with the ball. Sloppy, disorganized. Painful, honestly.

I will say England looked good. Sharp, hungry. I don’t love the amount of fouls they’re getting away with but they look better than the French game for sure.

Also as a fun fact, I think I have 100% fail rate when it comes to predicting the outcome of a Meadema match
