So, as we transition into our full mutant storyline (!!!!), there’s going to be some ground rules and this might get a little long. We’ll have the OOC information first and then the IC information second, both in bulletpoints for easier digestion. PLEASE read this in full and continue to call back to it if you find yourself confused. If there is something that has not been addressed in the following, please ask and we can deliberate and answer you ASAP, as well as update the post.
OOC INFORMATION - This is basically how it will work, and how we’re going to approach the transition out of character.
First off, our rules on powers:
Nothing too game-breaking is the biggest priority. You should always ask one of the ‘loremasters’ ( the previous admins ) if the power is okay.
We will be limiting how many characters can get powers, aside from those getting it from the V-Shot. Our limit is no more than a 1/4th of the characters you have, so only a 1/4th of the population will be getting powers.
How we’re going to stagger it is like so:
If you have one to three characters, you may have one mutant.
If you have four to seven characters, you may have two mutants.
If you have eight or more characters, your limit is three mutants.
THREE MUTANTS per player is our hard limit for the time being, but this may be revisited in the future, per our 1/4th rules.
There will be more drugs introduced over time, most likely IN CHARACTER and not on a plot update like this. And information will be posted on lore channels or character channels if the character is in charge of the spread / production.
To introduce a mutation to an already existing character, there are some regulations to follow so it’s not all buckwild immediately:
Confirm that the power is okay with a loremaster.
Fill out the powers questionnaire in the server.
SLOWLY introduce the powers to your character ( the following timeline will go by how much you’re active. You cannot post one day, and then post a week later and skip the timeline that has been set out. The more active you are, the faster the powers should develop. )
FOR THE FIRST WEEK - Your character should start feeling a bit different and showing small signs of changes, but nothing substantial. This will vary by power. For example, for powers having to do with fire, maybe their body temperature begins to rise or things heat up in their touch faster. This is where we’d encourage you to get creative about what happens.
FOR THE SECOND WEEK - Powers begin to show up in full force, and characters will have little to no control of them. Reactions to this can vary completely, but try to keep it slightly in the realm of realism. Think about it like this, if a real person suddenly started to melt things with their eyes, they wouldn’t just shrug it off. Of course, this is a science fiction roleplay, so things can get a little weird! Physical mutations that alter a character’s body or body chemistry will now start to grow but might not be fully done yet.
FOR THE THIRD WEEK AND ON - If your character is trying to learn to control their powers, they start to show slightly more control during the third week. However, total control will still be a long ways off and they will need to train to be proficient. For physical mutations, they will now be in full force and fully shown. Control may or may not come into play here.
NOW for the lore reason as to how this happened! Pro-mutant groups have begun to rise, suspicious of the way the government is addressing this and trying to keep it relatively under wraps. The more radical of the groups have taken some of the contaminated cepraxine and dumped it into the water supply. It’s a small amount compared to what the Switches are being injected with every two weeks, but there’s still a slight chance of the mutation. Hence, the 1/4th limit of mutants.
IC INFORMATION - This is what your character will know, experience, and see through this transition period.
Over the next week, mainstream media will begin to pick up on a few stories here and there. They’ll be more like filler stories, with an air of disbelief. One example could be a story about calls to the government about suspicion of Switches have increased.
After a week, most characters will probably know someone or knows of someone through other connections that has a mutation. It’s starting to get a little more real and less abstract.
Widespread news will begin after three weeks, as mutations start to show in the forefront. This will be updated as time goes on in other posts!

SELENE MENDEZ [ LANA PARRILLA ] played by ACE was accepted.
CHARACTER NAME: Selene Mendez
AGE: 43
OCCUPATION: Owner of Johnny’s Bar
MARK: Switch
FACECLAIM: Lana Parrilla
GENDER IDENTITY: Cisfemale
PERSONALITY: At first glance, Selene is not what you would expect out of the owner of a dive bar. She is soft-spoken, preferring to observe and help rather than be the center of attention. Her most notable quality is the nurturing, almost motherly way that she interacts with people without being patronizing. There is rarely doubt in anyone’s mind that Selene has people’s best interests at heart because she seems so willing to give people the shirt off her back. Despite her generosity, Selene can be quick to jump to conclusions and makes her distrustful of people she doesn’t know. While she is willing to help anyone and everyone who stops at her door, she is infinitely more wary of people trying to extend that same kindness to her.

As you all may have noticed, something weird is going on in New Eden.
Since the main manufacturing of the Switch V-shot has transferred ownership, many conspiracy theories have popped up about odd happenings here and there. A person demolishing a concrete wall with their bare hands, deformities growing overnight, someone’s spit being a weird purple color with no obvious medical reason as to why.
Blurry youtube videos have been posted, anonymous postings on reddit and other forums have been increasing.
And now, the time has come for the world to confirm what they’ve been trying to hide behind the scenes. More and more Switches on this new v-shot have start to exhibit mutations of some kind, harmful to themselves, to others, or simply just odd quirks that they have to navigate through on their day to day life.
A special state of the union address has happened detailing out that the government is doing everything they can do help these people that are suffering or otherwise due to the drug, and are going to continue investigating what’s happening and urge people to come forward to donate their blood to the cause.

MARISSA HOLCOMB [ ASHLEY JOHNSON ] played by LIZ was accepted.
Character Name: Marissa Holcomb
Age: 31
Occupation: Chef / Caterer
Mark: Dominant
Faceclaim: Ashley Johnson
Personality: Marissa is one of those types to smile through her pain. Instead of wallowing in her own trauma and wanting others to feel miserable just because she’s suffered, she instead wants to be the type of person to spread love and light however she can. It usually happens through her cooking, and that’s perfectly fine with her. She has a sarcastic streak and a fire within her, but mostly she’s all smiles and loves to make people laugh.

KYLA PAWTER [ DANIELLE ROSE RUSSELL ] played by ACE was accepted.
Character Name: Kyla Pawter
Age: 24
Occupation: Security Guard
Mark: Switch
Faceclaim: Danielle Rose Russell
Personality: Kyla very much has a devil-may-care attitude about most things, and her cavalier perspective on most things can be frustrating to some. She is of the perspective that everyone should be treated exactly the same way, whether they’re a CEO or a struggling single mom. To some, it is seen as irreverence, but Kyla has no intention of going out of her way to satisfy someone’s ego. So much of her life has slipped through her fingers that she finds getting worked up that kind of thing adds unnecessary stress to her life. So instead, she chooses to go where the wind takes her, trusting herself to land on her feet. After all, people are only around so they can let you down.

We all know that when it comes to roleplaying and getting muse that sometimes, it’s hard to really lock in on a character or find ways to develop your characters in ways that people may not think about. So, our solution is a character development survey that you can post where you like to really dig deep and maybe learn something new about your characters as you go through the list. This may also encourage others to plot with that character of yours in that they may learn something new about them through reading it.
We want to encourage everyone who does do this to not do it in a lackluster way and really ‘half-ass’ it. Some questions only require one sentence to answer, but we’d like to challenge you to do more than that, to explain the thought process thoroughly and give us something to chew on. And as always, have fun with this!
QUESTIONS BELOW THE CUT
Are they introverted or extroverted?
What bad habits do they have?
How do they display affection?
How do they want to be seen by others?
How do they see themselves?
Strongest character trait?
Weakest character trait?
Do they make snap judgements or take time to consider?
What is their greatest fear?
What are their biggest secrets?
How do they treat people better than them?
How do they treat people worse than them?
Describe their best friend.
How do they respond to a threat?
What do they think is the worst thing that can be done to a person?
Where do they want to be in a week? A month? A year?
How do they act in public?
How do they act in private/among close friends?
How do they respond to compliments?
What kind of qualities do they like in others?
Why is your character in New Eden?
Have they ever considered leaving the city? If so, why haven’t they?
What would your character say about each mark if they knew it would never be revealed to anyone?
How does your character truly feel about their mark?
Do they think their mark fits them?
What would they do to improve the city?
How important is their mark to them?
How important are other people's marks to them?
How did they feel when they first received their mark?

Is this game still active?
It is active, yes! However, it’s much slower than it was before due to the transition to a smaller, invite-only group. We’re also making changes to the ‘genre’ of the game, and making it more crazy and fun for a small group like this to explore.

LOGAN GAUTHIER \ SWITCH \ 36
PERSONALITY
Positive - Compassionate, intelligent, protective Negative - Anxious, escapist, passive
BIOGRAPHY
Logan was the oldest of two- born into an incredibly Traditional family. Early on, it was assumed that she would be marked a Sub, due to her rather demure nature. She was groomed to be the perfect Submissive claim to a strong Traditionalist Dominant, to follow in her mother’s footsteps and represent their family well. While she was a bit rough around the edges, she only ever wanted to make her family proud. She and her brother were practically attached at the hip, growing up- despite Jamie being almost half a decade over. Where their father was often away on work, their mother tended to prefer networking in town, leaving the two kids to entertain themselves. When Logan was twelve years old, her life was turned upside down when her father announced he was taking on a second claim- and even more so when it was announced that she was pregnant with a son. After Killian’s birth, things became more strained in the household- concerns over whether Jamie’s inheritance would be threatened by his new brother’s birth. While there was no indication that Killian was any kind of a “threat” it was hard not to notice the changes in Jamie’s behavior. He was still as sweet as ever with her, but there was an edge to him that she’d never known him to have before- and she wasn’t sure that she particularly liked it. Upon being marked as a Switch, Logan found her life flipped once again- but this time, she knew there was no coming back from it. She was the ultimate disappointment, and were it not for Jamie, she would have been thrown out on the streets. However, she was permitted to stay as long as she lived up to expectations of the Gauthier name. So, she did her best to make them proud, taking a job from a respectable Traditionalist family and doing her best to know Sophia’s needs before she did as her PA. And in between, she kept her head down, trying not to draw unwanted attention to herself. The fall of the government and subsequent reorganization of the government was just another blow to her desire for some kind of normalcy. During the days of anarchy and chaos, she stayed in her home, helping around the house as best as she could. And when supplies began to run low, she was the first to volunteer to go out and find food and other resources. There’s a small part of her that wonders what it would be like to join the resistance, to take pride in her mark, but more than anything, she wants to stay with her family, and is willing to do whatever she needs to make her brother’s defense of her worth it.
HEADCANONS
Logan is very much a dork. As a young child, she had an overactive imagination and a love of all things magical and fantastical. Her interests ranged anywhere from ancient legends of beasts from societies long lost, to more modern fictional tales like harry potter and the chronicles of narnia.
When she got a little older, she focused into a more “realistic”- in her opinion- dream of being a ninja or a secret agent, doing muay thai in her living room and pretending to be a super spy. After she received her mark, she delved even further into these imaginary worlds- an escape from her bland reality.
Logan is an expert gymnast. As part of her preparation to become a “super spy”, and competed frequently in competition, prior to receiving her mark. In order to keep up with her physical fitness, she still practices muay thai and took up yoga in her early twenties.
Logan is incredibly close to both of her brother’s- despite the fact that their relationship with each other is strained, at best. She loves them both, and wishes she could help them find a middle ground- if more on Jamie’s part than Killian’s. She likes to spend as much time with both of them as she can, when she’s not at work. A workaholic, it’s not as much time as she might like, but it’s more than she thinks she deserves.
