i just watched a docuseries about woodstock 99, and it captures some of what's wrong with boomers so well. michael lang and the other promoters wanted to bring back the original woodstock's message of peace and love, they wanted it to be a protest against gun violence, while also making as much money as possible, and as they were organizing, they didn't realize they were making a capitalist hellscape. they didn't even know who the performers were gonna be. they didn't realize the young people's anger, and why they were angry. and even decades after it all went down, they still blamed it on the kids not having social awareness, not realizing that in the 30 years between the two festivals, they turned into the problem.
