Powering Down for Good

((long post warning))

Hey folks, long time, no talk. Unfortunately, I’m here to bring you news that has probably been on plenty of people’s minds already due to our extended lack of activity....and something that I’ve personally been running away in saying.

From this day on, Nextale is DISCONTINUED.

No matter how much time as passed as we attempted to take our break, it still served as a toxic reminder of the drama we faced, the decline of our health, the confusion we had to things we weren’t used to, how dumb our decisions were and the repercussions that came from that, and furthermore, how dangerous it eventually became to Fire and I’s relationship. 

Thankfully, that’s been saved and has been even better than before, but there was one thing we mutually agreed on: the shitstorm killed our love for this AU and we wish to never go back to it. We’re not the type of people to go back to something that’s proven to be toxic for us.

Additionally, we lost track of the story and just practically gave up. I will admit to the sin of over-ambition, as back then, that’s been a bad habit of the both of us, mine especially. We originally made this project to run away from things that were falling apart somewhere else...and to be honest, we did the same thing again, which is why I want to personally apologize for taking so long in pulling the trigger. Anyway you know the story: over ambition came and bit us in the ass. Hard.

Finally, life changes. Fire and I are wishing to pursue our lives and have been working more (I had to pick up two jobs), and not to mention, we’re also focusing a LOT more into our original projects and have taken up making a game, too. 

However, our time at Nextale wasn’t always a cesspool of drama and toxicity.

When we were active, we had a good run! The beginning days were loads of fun when things got rolling, and we created tons of memorable events. I’ll never forget the day the fandom came together to help one person. TWICE, actually. I’ll never forget the sheer excitement we had when senpais noticed us, and how we would make a post just for a freakout <3 I’ll certainly never forget the time Fire and I answered over 1000 asks on the first day of popularity because we didn’t want to leave one ask unanswered....and that resulted in a few poor folks coming to our asks and asking us to ease up XD

Finally, neither Fire nor I will ever forget the connections we forged that still remain with us to this day, even when we moved on from the fandom. We met a lot of cool people, and shared a lot of memories. Here’s to those memories, and here’s to more in the future.

While we may be exhausted with AUs and the like, we’ll never let our love for what brought us together in the first place waver: the love for Undertale, itself.

Anyway, that’s about it for what I have to say about this.

The blog itself will of course remain open. Thank you so much for the fun run, however short it was...as well as all the support, cool-ass fanart, and of course, all the memories and excitement we made.

Onwards towards the new future, and no matter what it is, we can’t wait to see what happens next.

It don’t matter if we’re oceans apart, or planets even, we’ll be with you, helping you when you need it and assisting you with your recovery. This isn’t much, but I wanted to let you know that we’re here and that we’ll be waiting for your return.

when the drawing was in 95% (practically, without the two hands), I say to myself “OMG I’M IMPROVING!!”, and then I remember that I was guiding by the demo drawing in the AU info (25% I must say (I think…))

I don’t even know if in the AU are flying skateboards, BUT I DON’T CARE BECAUSE IT LOOKS GOOD.

-INTERMISSION: The Eyes Which Overlook Hesitation-

A single throne in front of a large window overlooks the city. Behind the single, yet imposing seat, a holographic screen materialized, revealing a six-petaled flower head AI with a rather annoyed expression.

Flowey: Great. Just great! We lost two of our better soldiers to the stupid ERG, Muffet failed, that other human’s still alive SOMEHOW, and furthermore, you can’t even RESET now!

???: Nothing we can really do about that, dear Flowey. Muffet knows what would happen if she fails again, and overall, it’s not even that big of a loss. I will say that I knew I should’ve taken the cutting route, but I didn’t want to ruin the new shirt with their blood.

It seemed like the one sitting on the chair didn’t seemed that fazed. In fact, it almost seemed like they were...not even concerned about the matter at hand, especially given the blatant sarcasm at the end. Flowey’s expression transitioned from annoyed to worried.

Flowey: Chara! This is SERIOUS! It may not be that way right now, but what about LATER?

Chara chuckles, with a faint smile on their face.

Chara: I wouldn’t worry too much about that, Flowey. This would be an interesting duel between two determined souls. But for right now....

We’ll just have to see what happens NEXT.

🌙 : Yes...I’m alive...and I kinda still care for Nextale lmao

I had this sitting on my computer as a sketch, and it originally was the final page of the intermission pages were just gonna be a full comic...but then time, life and priorities took over.

I give up trying to do a cohesive comic for this because of all that. I might do short comics if I feel like it, or something like what I just did here. Either way, Nextale ain’t dying, just slowed.

Also there were too many Asriels so I decided to throw a Chara-Wrench in the blog lmao

Set 2 for Batch 4 of Undertale AU Music Notes is finally finished! I struggled with these at first, until I remembered that some notes can be “upside-down”. And then it got a LOT easier. I still want Gaster’s coat. I will make one for myself one day.

I did a thing for @nextale!! Nextale Chara is just… She’s just amazing. And i’ve never much done armour like hers before so being able to do that was a bunch of fun! And the purple on her face is such a cool lil thing to draw in too.

Not sure if he’s submitted his lil OCs onto his tumblr, but if you want to do something for him, you can try to see if there’s anything you can draw on his regular tumblr which is found in NT’s description.

Alternatively, NT characters work, too, especially Asriel....or even his persona.

I’m not saying you guys HAVE to do this, but he did this for me when my birthday rolled around the corner, so I would like to do so for him, too.

Just don’t say a moon said anything ;P
