By organising health care institutions as state-owned entities, the DDR overcame the separation found in many capitalist countries today between publicly funded health services and the large, privately organised sector of outpatient and hospital care. The elimination of private forms of ownership enabled the integration of preventive, therapeutic, and aftercare measures that yielded better results for patients. Furthermore, the country’s numerous and diverse medical institutions – from hospitals and clinics to pharmacies and research centres – could now cooperate with one another as part of a unified network led by the Ministry of Health.
The hospital network in the DDR was steadily expanded to improve accessibility for citizens throughout the country. The tiered system, made up of the communal, municipal, and regional administrative divisions, sought to provide basic care in municipal hospitals, while specialised treatment would be administered in regional hospitals or national institutions and universities. Prior to the Second World War, churches played a significant role in maintaining and operating hospitals throughout Germany. Rather than dismantling these structures, the DDR worked with the clergy to ensure that emergency health care would be available in all areas of the country. Thus, of the 539 hospitals in East Germany in 1989, 75 remained under the jurisdiction of churches, though they too were integrated into the state’s planning system.

Hetaoc posting…… although they don’t represent a country they’re the Eurovision Song Contest because god forbid a woman have hyperfixations😡
I hate them and I hope they explode/j
So!!!! Their little hair curl is a reference to the Eurovision heart😁😁!!!! And their eye colour is directly picked from this year’s logo, plus the heart on their belt is also a nod to the Eurovision heart, the flag is whichever country is hosting ((:!!

The colour of their clothing and their little scarf are a nod to the Eurovision 2020/2021 logo

Annndd I think that’s it…. i need to tie Sweden/Ireland into their design somehow but idk how lmao… lmk if there’s any other bits n pieces I should add to them!!! I’d rlly like to hear it if anyone is interested haha:)))
Also bonus

I imagine their relationship with Switzerland to be like father-child lol the whole origin of Eurovision and the like unofficial slogan for this year being Welcome Home🥹🥹oohhh I love them…
Lmk if there’s anything else I should add or if I should spill more lol 🫶

Contribution to the holytalia community
Though with MY little twist! Say hi to Sebastiano, my beautiful beautiful north Italy remake which gives him melanin, curly hair, a physician career and lots of trauma!!!! (+ Communism but who cares, amirite? ;) )
If you recognize this art from somewhere else, yes, this was based on another art (but not traced! Just referenced.) and yes, the art I used to help me out was holytalia too but I swear I just got it because it looked real pretty and I needed something to put my poor Sebastiano on 😭

This is a chollima. Have you heard of it? The chollima is a Korean mythical horse (if you don't feel like you get it, it's like a unicorn. But way cooler and better than a unicorn tho). It has wings and can fly great distances at lightning speed. To be specific, 400km in a single night! The chollima is a symbol of inspiration for the people of the DPRK (I'm not sure if it's also popular in South Korea currently but it does predate the separation), reminding them to work with steadfast efficiency, speed, and determination to achieve their goals and dreams as a nation.
It is also said that because of the speed of the chollima, it's not possible for any mortal to ride it. So people who are particularly passionate and hard-working, meeting and exceeding targets, so much so that it seems almost god-like? They're known as chollima riders.
The movement which turned the chollima into a national symbol encouraging the citizenship to meet the nation's economic goals began in the 1950's. But the new youth of the DPRK needed something to inspire them too. That's why...
Move over chollima, there's a new magic horse in town! (jk we still love u xoxo) It's known as the mallima, and it's just like the chollima but TEN TIMES faster.
Today, the chollima and it's twin sister the mallima inspire the people worldwide to work hard and efficiently to achieve their goals.
Are you a chollima rider?
