ok so. i know *something* happened where dakota got the half chelsea smile and made the deal to hunt someone down or else. has that been expanded upon anywhere bc thats HUGE and i dont think ive found details about it. mayb i didnt dig deep enough but i figured i could just ask !!

👽-yeah!!! tldr: the slaughterhouse 9 [group of juggernaut supervillains from worm] were the reason dakota's parents were killed-- they got caught in the radius of attack of a Thing That Just Straight Up Eats People & got scooped open & splattered around like a pudding cup, this was the catalyst for his first trigger. soon [for a loose, couple years later definition of soon] after, baby dakota (around 11 or 12) intentionally tagged after & found the s9, intending to "get revenge." (he is 12 years old and his superpower is feel like hes dying forever.) the leader of the group, jack slash, thinks this is really funny and instead of killing dakota, he makes a deal with him that dakota has to come back in a couple years and kill him right this time, or else he'll [consequence that we've left vague up until now, in the scene that this is vaguely paralleling in worm the consequences are "if you don't manage to get me, i'll kill one thousand people, starting with your baby sister and ending with you"] edit I Entirely forgot to say that this is where jack cuts dakota's face open as a reminder/nasty joke.

i think it's pretty fun that dakota "refuses to kill people" damascus is absolutely forced into killing a man in nhw. it's a vague and constant looming dread hanging over him, even if the idea of actually managing to do it sort of gains feasibility once he second triggers, and it's even worse during the s9 arc in nhws proper, where mallard conway is in town to recruit will into their group & jack reopens the scar to punish him for talking out of turn during a... negotiation. yay!! ^_^

🐟- ALSO SMALL DETAIL TO ADD TO THIS theres another parallel scene in worm where one of the main characters gets HER face slashed open for speaking out of turn. and there's kind of a visceral description of another character needing to stick fingers in her mouth to put pressure on it to stop the bleeding while trying not to let her choke on her own blood etc etc etc and i think we all agreed that would be fun to do to dakota (and william and virion but mostly dakota.) ^_^ also yeah the looming threat of dakota damascus needing to kill someone is just too good.

guys do you have some specific design in mind for rings virion wears, the ones that used to belong to his mother. like color/material and shapes or something (i think it would be cool if some of them were floral themed, unless they're just simple bands?)

they're all 18k or 24k gold!! there's no other metals & not Many stones, anna intentionally bought & kept expensive pieces that virion could sell in a worst-case scenario. a couple of them are really traditional south indian designs that were gifts from sol from His family (that very like, intricate filigree) a couple are korean/chinese enamel & jade (she was mixed korean). any pieces with stone settings are ones that are high up on the mohs scale so that they don't shatter- diamond, sapphires, rubies ^_^ as for other shapes-- sturdy, not delicate, no openwork or edges or bits to snag or get caught<3 florals r also REALLY good i think .

u didn't ask abt earrings but theyre also all just plain sturdy little gold hoops & studs <3 in my beautiful mind if he's Really dressing up for some occasion & he isn't 100% in preparing for worst violent case scenario mode he will wear one (1) norigae earring. the knot-and-tassle ones<3

🥃- OUHHH SORRY IM ANSWERING THIS LATE. i was hungover on the weekend -_- basically ^^^literally all of this!! ros covered pretty much most of my thoughts. roswell and their bank of knowledge on Things and such.... he definitely has like one or two floral/plant themed pieces but he rarely wears them i think because it reminds him Too much of his mom. like a ring with some vines etched into it, a single small earring stud in the shape of a flower, etc. also in my beautiful mind virion has the right side of his nose pierced (he saw pictures of sol's family and thought the women with their nose piercings were rly cool so his parents let him get it done when he was pretty young) and he used to wear some really pretty south indian studs that sol gave him!! he doesn't really wear anything in his nose anymore though. too much risk of it getting caught on his mask!!! still has some studs but he probably sold most of them early on after his trigger because he needed money to travel. might put a simple diamond stud in his nose when he's out of costume but it's a rare occasion

ALSO!! he has maybe one or two earrings from min. not many though!! min liked to get silly earrings from places like claire's and hot topic and sometimes she liked to make her own. virion has like one (1) shitty earring from spencer's that's like a tiny plastic duck that dangles from a half broken hook (he lost the other one) and one that's literally just a paperclip with a bunch of tiny beads along it hooked onto a safety pin. he never wears either of them but he Has them. most of his jewelry is gold from anna though <3
