i get this so much but i think for buffy the choice was so obvious that she didn't think at all - q initiative saying "we have to remove it or fix it or he dies" and she'd go "get that shit out of there then!" i'm genuinely saying i think it wasn't even a choice bc there was no world where buffy would've let them fix the chip. in my humble vision spike - if not struck by pain atm - was just there looking at her with big puppy eyes, after the procedure as well.
