Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970), Russ Meyer
It’s gets points alone for its sheer ridiculousness and complete unwillingness to make any sense whatsoever, plus there’s enough silly sex (dated as it may be) to keep any idiot occupied, so my fist dip into American cinema’s response to the Sexual Revolution of its time was pretty much exactly what I expected, which was fine enough for me.

Poets and their readers may be separated by distance but if a spiritual unity between them is preserved, borders and barriers, whatever their nature, have not power.

there’s a lot of unspoken pressure to keep liking the things you used to like and to keep dressing the way you’ve always dressed and to never question what you believe in. basically “be yourself” has slowly morphed into “be what everyone knows you as”, but trust me when i say if you just give it up and simply make decisions and take actions based on what will make you the most happy, healthy, vibrant and radiant version of yourself, you’ll gain a very comforting sense of inner peace
