nick: it's not like that at all. never was. i know you're a good person.

nick: when i first started this, i thought i couldn't be around anyone who wasn't living the same way i was. i thought it was that easy for me to slip because i was beating myself up.

nick: but that's unrealistic, and it's unfair. i can't live like that forever. i don't want to.

“A gentlemen thought this would be a good fit for me. I thought I’d try it.” Jensen said coolly. “I know my acting is a bit off. But hopefully, within the next three weeks it’ll improve. Would you like to catch a couple of drinks.” 

nick nodded, the pieces falling into place. “you’ll get there. these things take time.” when the other man suggested drinks, the list of excuses nick’s sponsor had given him to comfortably wiggle his way out of these situations without making the air feel heavy/tense. however, nick threw out every last one to simply say: “i don’t drink.” it did feel lame on the tongue, so he followed up with an alternative. “how about coffee instead?”
