Having family members who remain willfully ignorant of the situation in Palestine by, for instance, choosing to buy food and beverages from companies sponsoring the genocide is one of the many reasons why I hate this fucking family.

I am biologically hardwired toward agape—love for all humanity. It is from this very source that has inspired me to investigate ideas that enables the flourishing of humankind. I am bounded by this feeling of goodwill and I would like to see it exercised. To be of service to humanity, to engage in activities to advance its development and happiness, is to be of part of an enduring noble project.

“Philosophy is to be studied, not for the sake of any definite answers to its questions, since no definite answers can, as a rule, be known to be true, but rather for the sake of the questions themselves; because these questions enlarge our conception of what is possible, enrich our intellectual imagination and diminish the dogmatic assurance which closes the mind against speculation; but above all because, through the greatness of the universe which philosophy contemplates, the mind is also rendered great, and becomes capable of that union with the universe which constitutes its highest good.”

I wish I had a family that discusses the intricacies of a film we just watched (especially on the way home from the cinema). If I were to have a family of my own, this would be an expectation.

A clip of a toddler reciting religious scripture circulates online. It is not cute. It’s the glorification of theological indoctrination.

Note to self: never ever share good news with “loved ones.” They somehow have this pathological need to dampen my genuine enthusiasm with their lack of emotional investment, general apathy, and/or negativity.

Ffs why am I always dragged into people’s problems? I get that I’m a good listener and I provide useful advice sometimes but I’m not the one that should be putting out their fires. I have no responsibilities when it comes to resolving their issues. Omg setting boundaries is so fucking important.

Fighting over the most trivial things (things or situations that can be so easily resolved) is truly one of the most embarrassing things one can pull. A stunt like that just reflects a person’s emotional immaturity and stuntedness. Be better.
