Sorry we really went from free the nipple, take back the night, slut walks, and ending gender/sex segregation in sports being fucking milquetoast feminism 101 concepts to fucking girl dinner and "I just worry about fairness if we let trans girls play against cis ones" and "it was right of that woman to call the cops on a black man for existing near here in public during the day time because men are all violent monsters" and "radical feminism isn't transphobic we just need to kill all men including trans ones those oppressive traitors" and I will legit never be able to be normal about it. What the FUCK happened. I'd say I wonder what the feminists of my youth would say about this but I'm one and lemme tell ya I want to throw up. Go fucking read bell hooks or do something else useful please because all of this learned helplessness, gender essentialism, and transphobia dressed up as feminism is actively holding us back.

Tangled au where 12/13 year old Rapunzel gets mad at Mother Gothel and in a fit of teen rebellion cuts her hair and that kills her, so the now orphan Rapunzel leaves the tower and stumbles into the Snuggly Ducking and is effectively adopted by the thugs. She works there as a barmaid and every year a couple of them take her to the outskirts on the kingdom to see the lanterns.
She isn’t found out to be the lost princess until
A) she goes into the kingdom to bail out one of regulars
Or B) after stealing the crown, Eugene, heads to the pub to keep low only to have a heart attack bc wtf is that the queen???

It is morally correct to be horny on main.
If we really want to fight against this puritanical culture that seems to be hell-bent on running sex workers off the internet and banning pornography wherever they can find it, you have a moral duty to post hole on main. Doesn't have to be your own hole but you got to post it.

I was thinking about how funny it would be if, as I've joked before, Anakin was Extremely Online and spent a ton of time on an R2 Unit Hobbyist Forum or something. Like obviously Obi-Wan and Padme and Ahsoka etc all know he's super into tricking out his astromech, but they don't realize he's got this whole other life that no one else knows about and he's like, sneaking away to go to conventions and meetups. And on the flip side, none of his online friends know he's a Jedi, they just know him as radakin12345 or whatever. Maybe he gives them a fake "real" name when he meets his internet friends in person so that they won't be able to find out who he really is. (Everyone's always kind of concerned for his well-being because half the time when he finally joins them at the bar at the hotel they're all staying at for this year's con, he looks like he just came off of a battlefield, for God's sake.)
I felt like this would be humorous until I considered the aftermath of Anakin's fall, because maybe he just totally drops off the face of the universe then and stops responding to DMs and emails and his fanzine stops publishing new issues. All of his friends think he's either decided he hates them, or he's died, and they have no way to confirm anything one way or another. Like, somebody probably eventually starts a Radakin12345 Memorial Thread or something. 😢 But then I realized that I have no reason to suspect that Anakin wouldn't just keep right on posting even when he's Darth Vader (I mean, Artoo might be gone, but he's got a whole warehouse full of other droids to work on, and also this is an excellent way to keep an eye out for a particular blue astromech maybe showing up in buy/sell/trade threads.) So now the idea that a bunch of clueless internet nerds are, unbeknownst to them, friends with one of the most terrifying beings in the entirely galaxy is making me laugh.
(They all wonder why he suddenly decided not to come to any more in-person gatherings, though. Anakin claims the conventions have just gotten "too commercial" for his tastes. It used to be about the droid-building, man. 😂)

Came across a very interesting post on IG about how Christianity was intentionally used to subject enslaved Africans. Which should be news to no one, but the book that was shown, How To Make A Negro Christian by Kamau Makesi-Tehuti, was a commentary on selected text from a work called The Religious Instruction of the Negroes in the United States by Charles Colcock Jones who was a Presbyterian minister and enslaver.
A summary of this work provided by this website states that the second part, out of four, in this book, and I kid you not, deals with
[T]he "Moral and Religious Condition" of slaves and free blacks, blaming their circumstances for their lack of virtue. Jones especially calls attention to their poverty and lack of education. He describes their ignorance of Christianity, their general lack of character, and their prevailing vices, noting that in the end, they are totally dependent on white men for the ability to overcome these limitations.
Then later
The final part of the book proposes some strategies for implementing programs of religious instruction for slaves, making recommendations for Sabbath services as well as weekday plantation meetings. Jones says that the Christian gospel must be presented in a way that is intelligible to uneducated slaves, and must be inculcated early in childhood when possible. The guiding principle he describes for dealing with the condition of the slave is to be only concerned with the spiritual, not the secular, political, or civil.
I've recently been reading Octavia Butler's Kindred and there's a part in it where the main character, Dana, mentions the existence of slave bibles which omitted any verses about liberation and freedom.
You can read more about them here:
They gutted the Bible so much that, according to this article, the nearly 1.2k chapters in the text was chisled down to a mere 232.
It's been mentioned before by people more articulate than me about how Christianity is a white man's bastard, misused, abused, and misappropriated to enact and inflict the worst sins upon non-white people. Enslaved Africans weren't the only ones. Never forget that indigenous people across the Americas have historically been subjugated to violence and terrorism by white Christians and missionaries literally wielding their faith like machetes.
I have no end point here. While I am not a Christian and haven't been one for over at least 13 years now, if not longer, I do fucks with Jesus heavy. And it's not just because of my upbringing that I still have some fondness for the figurehead, if not the faith/practice itself, or because some of my immediate ancestors were Christians and I respect their long held beliefs while they encourage me on my own religious path. I have no qualms with the religion in general, however, I do not and cannot ignore the history of violence that historically and continues to be done in the name of that religion.
Neither am I looking to challenge my fellow Black people to leave their faith if they should come across this post. Though, I would be a lie if I said I didn't want Black Christians to revisit their ideologies in relation to how they view non-Christian beliefs (and y'all know exactly what the fuck I mean, please don't make me spell it out) and how they regurgitate the same queerphobic, sexist, anti-Black rhetoric of the white church. I would love, love, LOVE for y'all to challenge those views and disabuse y'allselves of these ideologies for the betterment of the community and people as a whole and to do it fucking quickly please. That's Y'ALL work to do, if y'all so choose.
I just found this fascinating in a "staring at a horror" kind of way.
Also, I might revisit the unique way in which African practices infiltrated the creation of the Black church anyway once the whites were so sure they had indoctrinated us out of our heritage and culture. I'm talking about things like the ring shout, call and response, laying on of hands, spirit possession, connection with nature and natural elements. Things like that. And how these elements are still found in some ways in the modern Black church but especially in African Traditional and Diasporic religions as well.

My conspiracy is the reason they haven't killed all the arc 1-4 characters is that they know most long time series fans would check out of the books at that point and they're too afraid of that. No they cannot stop making the writing quality worse or being horrifically misogynistic.

@ anyone posting/reblogging/liking the video of Lil Nas X's mental health crisis: Delete the post, please keep your speculations about him absuing drugs to yourself, do not interact with any media outlet that's sensationalizing/humiliating a young queer black man at a very difficult time in his life.
Please leave encouraging comments on his social media instead. Lil Nas X has an instagram and as far as i'm aware he MIGHT still have a twt acct.
Let's address that he was forced to the ground by police officers. He's apparently still in police custody currently (when I first posted this, he was) He'll be out eventually, hopefully very soon in the near future
Call out the LA police for their unnecessary and harsh methods.
Please folks, let's remember to give him the privacy and respect that he deserves, just like every other human being does. Nas deserves to heal and recover, try to show your support for him <3
[EDIT] I fixed some MAJOR grammar issues and a few typos, I posted this at 1am yesterday :p
Consider donating to charities such as:
The Trevor Project: A charity focused on suicide prevention efforts for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning(LGBTQ) youth.
http://thetrevorproject.org/
The Black mental health alliance
The Okra Project:
Due to a multitude of circumstances — not living near a grocery store with a large selection, not living in a space with adequate kitchen facilities, or not being paid enough to afford top-notch ingredients — transgender and nonbinary people (especially those of color) often lack the resources to cook fresh, healthy meals.
The Okra Project bridges the gap by sending Black transgender chefs to houses to provide professionally-prepared meals to Black transgender folks experiencing food insecurity
