As a child, Yoongi had been born into an incredibly poor family. His father was a worthless drunk and his mother had passed away after giving birth to Yoongi’s younger brother, Joguk. And so at the age of 8 he had begun working anywhere and everywhere to support his father and brother. He sacrificed everything he had to give for his little brother. At 16 Yoongi and Joguk were living on their own and doing well for the most part. After Japan had taken over Korea, things changed. It was becoming harder and harder to pay for the younger and he could hardly keep the kid in school. By age 23 Yoongi had been wasting away, but his brother, the only thing he had left, was doing well. One night while walking Joguk home from the market they had been attacked. There was so much blood and screaming. The men who had grabbed Yoongi had been vampires, speaking Japanese and laughing as they ripped apart his younger brother. He screamed and struggled against the men holding him back but he could hardly put up a fight. It felt like forever before he felt pins pierce his wrist and darkness hit. When he had woken up everything had changed and he was no longer human.

The great revelation in 2006 was horrifying. Yoongi had become a fairly successful doctor, depression had always plagued him but the job kept the vampire rooted. Once vampires had been forced into the limelight or sunlight really, he had cut all ties and went into hiding almost immediately. He quit his job, moved apartments and lived alone for 6 years after that. Slowly but surely he began getting his normal life back. The vampire landed a job at a blood bank and he began swiping blood that couldn’t be used and using it to feed himself. Yoongi had begun selling his own blood for people to get ‘V’ in exchange people would give him fresh blood. He slowly regained friends and sure enough, life was good again. Sort of. Yoongi still wanted vampires dead.

“So tell me, Joon, have you ever killed anyone?”

Joon gasps softly and clutched at his chest, feeling his heart beating calmly under his palm while he stared incredulously at the doctor. Behind her, the walls were painted white. So were the chairs they were seated on across each other.

He shook his head “I’m no murderer-maybe a little crazy but aren’t we all?” he chirps hopefully, big brown eyes and a full on gummy smile as he tried to get on the lady’s better side.

Really this doctor came in every day and he was taken from the comforts of his isolated cell for repetitive interviews. How boring and mundane. He scratched his head, his face twisted in a lethargic expression while the psychologist studied him. “Tell me about the orphanage you were in.”

A blank look and then there is indifference “I already did tell you so many times lady- gosh if I had a mother she would sound like you.”

“You did have a mother Joon.”

“No, I didn’t, I grew up among the kids in the orphanage and the many mothers in there. They looked after us very well. Most of them scolded me a lot, though.”

“What were you scolded about?”

“Lady you ask too many questions!” he whines like a five-year-old and crosses his arms tight around his body, eyeing the many cameras in the room-watching him. “I was playing having fun with my other brothers and sisters. Then I saw so many treasures in the sky at night and I made some of my brothers climb up trees to reach for them!”

The doctor quietly adds “One of them fell and got injured badly?”

“Hey if you know the whole story just go tell them yourself!” hands land heavily on the tabletop, he snaps, as unpredictable and savage a man he had become. The security rushed in but his hands were restrained by cold silver chains. The doctor sat, composed as ever and darn it did it anger him more but it is her soothing words that follow which make him calm down as quick as he had gotten agitated. “I apologize Joon, please carry on.”

A soft huff and his lower lip quivers looking very near tears “My brother fell he couldn’t hold onto the branch for too long. He um- broke some bones. I remember not getting to see him a lot after that till he just vanished. I told the mothers the demons took him.”

“Demons?”

“Yes with big teeth, pointy” he gestures with his index fingers pointing from his lips.  “Soon after that some more of us tried to reach for the treasures in the sky but then for some reasons the Mothers didn’t like me anymore. Even though I made the kids laugh so hard they would fall down!” and he laughs, the same kind of boisterous, crazy laugh that he knew would turn anyone into a breathless mess.

Yet, the doctor didn’t laugh and Joon sheepishly curls up in his chair “Do you know why they moved you from that orphanage to here?”

Joon shook his head with a very curious look in his eyes “They said a new orphanage is what I needed- that I need help. Are you one of the mothers here? I see you a lot.”

The woman sighs and shakes her head “ I’m your doctor, even since you were brought to this asylum I have been looking after you. Do you remember setting fire to the hall your brothers slept in?”

Joon shook his head mutely.

“How about the money you stole.”

Another shake of his head and memories start playing in his mind like an irritating record and his hands clamp over his ears. “I don’t want to talk anymore!” he shrieks but before he could say another word all of the lights in the room go off. Pitch black has him panicking and he grows deaf to the doctor’s instructions to remain calm.

Soon she’s screaming and crying for help while he sits there frozen in fear. Something was inside, he could hear it just across from him. Sounds of slurping and gargling and choking and Joon curls up into a ball.

“Come, child, you’re free, do not fear me, for I am here to help.”

It’s a cold, venomous tone, Joon stammers that he didn’t want to get eaten and he gets a soft laugh in response “I’m full. Go on, I cut your chains.”

Joon gets up and runs, without throwing a single glance back.

Two years later he stands on the corner street, in a nice looking suit and with a big grin on his face he tries selling ‘branded watches’ to the crowds on the sidewalk. He tries this business before he figured that instead of selling things, he was good at stealing.

“Stop! Thief!”

He giggles while his bare feet have him darting across streets and jumping over walls. Weeks later he realizes the jewelry shops have a lot of treasures inside, so he tries out his skills there.

“There he is!"  he’s beaming proudly while he runs with his 'treasures’ over the walls and onto rooftops, Joon laughs delightedly He had practiced rooftop skipping and if he said so himself. He was rather good at it.

When Vampires ‘came out of the coffin’ Suzy saw it as an excellent opportunity to further her own career, rather than support the vampire’s so called 'rights.’ Fresh from the confined life as a student, Suzy had obtained a first class honours degree in economics from Chung-Ang University and was desperate to find a way to sink her teeth into the world of business.

Having caught wind of the whole vampire business, Suzy moved out of her simple, modest first home and with the help of daddy’s wallet, she exchanged it for something much more luxurious in the heart of Seoul. It was there that she built the stepping stones of an Empire that would soon be notorious for selling South Korea’s most controversial drug - 'V’

It took years of perfect, years of unethical experiments against the vampires, but Suzy didn’t care about the morals surrounding her business, in her opinion, they should've stayed in their coffins, they were bloodthirsty violent monsters. Hearing them scream and beg for mercy brought joy to her cold heart. Once the first batch of 'V’ was finally complete, she let it loose amongst the general public. The drug became so popular, Suzy’s laboratories struggled to keep up with the demand - she needed more vampires.

Everything was going according to plan, and Suzy was becoming a rich woman indeed, however, soon the Government heard rumors of this so called recreational substance and began investigating Su-ji Industries. Her unethical treatment of vampires was exposed, and protests against her business soon riled up amongst the general public. Disgraced and ashamed, Suzy was forced to close down her business and go into hiding.

The newly established 'Vampire Rights Amendment’ has made it increasingly difficult for Suzy to continue her business from her newly constructed underground laboratories, but that hasn’t stopped her trying, and it didn’t stop the demand for her drug either. Whilst technically illegal, 'V’ is still a substance demanded by the public, and Suzy is more than happy to supply, however the production and distribution of the drug is much more taboo, manufactured in secret and dealt in the most discreet locations dotted about Seoul.

It is no wonder the Vampire species considers Suzy their enemy. She is a threat to their very existence. There have been several attempts on her life so far, by both vampires and vampire rights activist, but she has managed to evade assassination thus far, choosing to live a much more undercover lifestyle now that the Vampire Rights Amendment has been established.

Suzy is playing a dangerous game, however her unquenchable thirst for riches and power keeps her attention well and truly focused on running her anti-vampire Empire.

Woohyun grew up in a quiet age, his only worry in life was  to continue the family farm and pass it down to his own children. That is how his father raised him. Up until his teenage years, Woohyun followed very closely to his fathers wishes. That was however, until his brother moved to start his own family. All responsibilities shifted to him- much to his own dismay. He instead eventually quit tending to the crops and cattle to instead sneak off to play with the other kids his age.

At 17, they were visited by a group of people hailing from a foreign country he’d never heard of. They attempted to teach the locals about a ‘God’ in their daily meetings in the village center. Personally indifferent about this weird lore from strangers, he was more interested in what else was out there in the world. Knowing there was something beyond the mountains was like learning about god, and he wanted to see it for himself. Being nothing more than a peasant made it more of a dream than anything.

For years, the wanderlust gripped tightly on him up until his death.

During the early summer his 24rd year, he went on a delivery to an elderly man who lived out in the thick brush- only to never return. To put simply, he was ambushed. Upon his entrance of the rickety shack, he was enveloped in a thick darkness and life as he knew it was over.  

At first, he thought he was a ghost. It wasn’t until the gentleman fully explained what he was that he learned he was much more dangerous than any ghost. Woohyun was absolutely manic. Relieved that he was never to worry about living callously for another 30 years, but eaten away at the idea of potentially living forever.

A century had passed before a bloody, modernizing Korea forced him from hiding. Settling armies began telling stories of “demons” living in the woods after several foot soldiers turned up dead and drained of blood. That was the exact moment he knew he had to choose between continuing to just barely make it by here or seek solace in the huge world that had mystified him when he was young. He did the right thing; he fled to the land of the missionaries from those many years ago. His only regret was that it wasn’t until he died that Woohyun got to see the very planet he’d grown to love. He would travel by trading ships, seeing the beauty of the world as a stowaway.

In autumn of 1906, he reached Italy where he would go on to live under a “proper name” he’d given himself, Benicio Nam. “Benicio” was the son of a trader who came to Italy during a plague in his native land. He spent much of his time working for other lowly creatures ‘similar’ to him, collecting wealth through blood and manipulation. It was pitiful- taking the lives of others for his own survival. It ate away at him. The only contact he really had with people were those of which he came across to scam or outright murder. It wasn’t until a hunt during the 1930s, would he find someone. A woman in a tea shop would be the only person in years whom he would develop a longstanding(although not entirely faithful) relationship with that ran for several decades, up until her death in the 1980s.

The nature of his jobs coupled with the crippling loneliness he’d experienced for the last 300 years or so left him with a long standing addiction with a cocktail of narcotics that nearly killed him…again.

In the mid-2010’s, Woohyun planned his trip back to Korea as his last. He was going back to close any ties and say goodbye. His plan was to cease existing. That was, however, before he discovered that there were so many others like him. It took him nearly 360 years to discover he was not quite as alone as he thought.

Instead, he sought this as an opportunity to bring his business from his “new” home back to his homeland, bringing some connections with him. In Seoul, a restaurant affectionately named “Luna” opened in a renowned district where he now thrives with an inflated ego and the city in the palm of his hand.

Baekhyun was born in the city of London, England in it’s beginnings in 1326. By the middle of the century he had lost his entire family to the Black Death and was wondering the streets drunk in the night before Christmas Day, 1350. He had begged for death, wondering out loud why God had taken all of his family away from him and left him alone. A vampire had answered his cries and turned him that night. He and his maker, an old vampire from the Roman times, had lived every day since together and traveled the world and not long after they’d met he had fallen in love with her and they lived as lovers. It was seemingly out of the blue that Baekhyun’s maker had abandoned him, releasing him, not explaining much except that it was time for her to let him go and become someone beyond her teachings and their relationship. Baekhyun was devastated, living a year in the sewers, almost starving to death before finally regaining his strength and returning to his motherland of modern day South Korea, where he opened up a vampire bar, called Fangtasia, which became the most popular vampire bar in Seoul.

Back when Romania was the kingdom of Hungary, Wooshin was the prince Transylvania. When he was only 18 years old his father died leaving him the kingdom to take care of. While Hungary still had control over the Southern Europe. Wooshin never stopped fighting to end it. Before he went suspiciously missing he went to go make a “deal with the devil”. But it resulted in him dealing with a couple of vampires, who had great hatred for the king. He was turned into a monstrosity and left for dead.

He knew he never could return to his people or they would kill him.

He went into hiding for many years, watching the war from afar and their victory, that he was no part of, echoed throughout his mind. He grew bitter towards others and especially himself since he didn’t get to live up to his father’s expectations. Although his father was dead, he felt like he disappointed him.

Wooshin never let in anyone, including any vampires, into his life. He was alone for almost half of his lifetime, anger growing and bubbling inside him. For a while he mostly didn’t care about anyone or anything. He searched many years for his makers, but could find no trace.

Then when several hundred years past he grew quite hostile towards humans. Until the 18th century he finally snapped. He hated the way they thought, how superior they acted, and hated how happy they could be while killing innocent vampire lives. For the longest time he went on rampages at night, slaughtering many families, not controlling his bloodlust or his moral standards.

He travelled the world, from Spain to Russia killing until he ended up in a Seoul, South Korea. He met Baekhyun, an older vampire with a better moralistic perspective. He took Wooshin in, teaching him to become someone with more potential. Wooshin now works at Baekhyun’s club as a mysterious charming bartender with a dark past.

Any specific kind of muses the admins would like to see here?

I think both admins just really want enthusiastic muns & active muses the most! But as far as specifics, here’s a few things that just occurred to me —

Vampires don’t have to be perfect, in fact chaos within a vampire muse is really gonna allow room for growth and keep the plots interesting. I’d love to see a vampire that’s clumsy or a vampire that doesn’t have a complete control over their bloodthirst.

While vampires are really cool, we’d love to see a good balance between human and vampire muses! Human muses can be a lot of fun as long as you establish their background first. You can make someone with a religious background who hates vampires and actively protests against them.

I hope this helps a little bit for those having trouble with muse background!
