A nervous breath left Izuku. Yayoi’s excitement and focus on fully living up to the masquerade theme made him happy. At first, he wasn’t sure about the idea. Izuku was, after all, a huge dork and a masquerade ball seemed to need him to be anything but dorky. Suave, cool, mysterious -  but not dorky. Izuku was none of those things but he wanted to bring Yayoi to a cool event to dress up for in fancy costumes.

“Ah, I-I’m glad you want to go, Yacchan! Maybe we can find you a fun wig downtown before the masquerade ball if you don’t already have one you’re happy with? Or maybe a costume shop would be better? The flier made it seem really fancy and ornate”

|| Oof man, I’ve never been a vampire person, not really. Twilight couldn’t keep me hyped about vampires lmao, werewolves sound like so much more fun as an AU. The floofy ears, the transformations, the claws, and sharp teeth. That’s good shit, my dude.

With the next big boss fight ahead of him worth at least three times as many coins as the ornately detailed armor his avatar wore, Katsuki was practically buzzing with excitement. A long day at school filled with the typical droning of boring extras and dull coursework that made him snooze at his desk left him with much residual energy to expend and nothing sounded better to him now than channeling it into his favorite online game.

Which nobody knew he played. Not even his best friend! Some dorky habits must be kept a secret, even for Katsuki.

He assumed he was alone, none of the other players from the beginning of the hour had made it past the traps. The mouth of the cave that lead to the boss battle was vacant save for himself, or so he thought. Katsuki entered without worry, fingers hovering the action keys and ready to begin.

Katsuki didn’t realize that he was, in fact, not alone until he checked the map again and saw a second player dot. If there was another player here, he couldn’t see ‘em. Must be afraid of the fight, he thought.

|| Prototype!Katsuki: oooh heck, Katsuki and Yayoi I feel have a good relationship. It’s like, borderline bro-esque, but more? Refined in a way, if that makes sense. Katsuki trusts Yayoi enough to go to her and ask for help, even if he doesn’t want to talk about what’s going on, he still finds ways to open up to her without spilling his guts. He’s okay with her seeing his more vulnerable, insecure side. Katsuki would miss Yayoi if he ever did get to go home, she makes being stuck in an unfamiliar place a little bit better, y’know?

As for Akira, I feel like Katsuki would subconsciously gravitate towards him. Akira and Proto!Masaru almost have a similar temperament to Katsuki, or he just really misses having a dad. I think he’d feel suuuper weird about Akira at first only because he would be reminded of how homesick he is but he would open up pretty quickly.

|| Kirishima: yo my dude, Yayoi and Kiri could be great. They could either be good pals or something more, I dunno quite yet, but either way, she’d get to judge his quirky weird unfashionable-fashion sense and they’d have a good time. I think their personalities would make them get along well. Plus, bonding over a shared dislike of their middle school selves.

Kiri would treat Akira like he does with any teacher. He would be respectful, unafraid of asking questions, and happy to learn. || Midoriya: okay Izuku adores Yayoi. The crush on her was unexpected and super cute, he never thought he would have the courage to date a girl, let alone an upperclassman. Especially since it was Yayoi who pushed past his shyness and asked him to (I think) that winter ball event from two winters ago. Izuku finds her someone he can lean on and someone he wants to share things with, even if he can’t tell her about OFA and All Might. He’s still adorably shy around her because he doesn’t know how to navigate feelings, but he’ll grow out of it.

And with Akira, well, Izuku needs every dad he can get. Er, he wants every dad he can get. He feels extra pressure to get Akira to like him of course. Izuku wants to be on his good side, but he also doesn’t want to hide anything from him. He’s just as much a problem child with Akira as he is with every teacher.
