Hi!! I was super interested in a character design you made a really long time ago, Paradox! I noticed his clothing is based off of Jiangshi's and I wanted to know how you found/designed the clothing for him? It looks really good and I want to design Jiangshi characters but I'm not exactly sure where to start

Wow, what a blast from the past. My assignment was to design goth characters, but I had a passing interest in the street goth aesthetic that was developing during that time (see dxpe chef for examples). I happened to mistake some striping as bagua triagrams and thought it'd be interesting to try and mix the goth aesthetic with jiangshi. Thanks for the kind words. It's fun trying to mix opposing aesthetics, and it's a theme i like to use often. If you're strugging to think of an idea, take the idea of kyonshii and what would be an unexpected pairing. Old + new, east + west, dead + alive. Lots of options to think of!
