My name is Dora. I have dog named Chestnut, and a doll, Ariana. They live at the two ends of the world. One day, when they meet each other, it's the day I come back home.

Had I the heaven’s embroidered cloths, enwrought with golden and silver light, the blue and the dim and the dark cloths of night and light and the half-light; I would spread the cloths under your feet: but I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams…

He called her a druid the first time they met and saved her, and brought her to Jamie. They’d been through so much together, they had their song. He was the only one Claire would trust Jamie with on a battlefield. He was the only one in 18th century other than Jamie who knew Claire’s secret, believed her and kept it. He was Murtagh, not just Jamie’s godfather, but also Claire’s.

A Woman’s World
I’ve been thinking about the women of Outlander today, not only because it’s International Women’s Day, but because the latest episode, 5x04, The Company We Keep, brings us into the secret world of women. There is a cultural narrative born from patriarchy that pits women against women, this idea that we can’t trust each other, that there is some sort of competition we’re all in, the rules of which don’t seem to be written anywhere, the finish line nonexistent. The truth, the reality of the world of women, is that women have always championed each other. Women have always been each other’s greatest supporters. And it could be no other way.
Even as the older women chastise Alicia for getting pregnant, they admit she is not the first and will not be the last - this predicament is the ever-present reality of those with the ability to carry life. We see the unbridled joy of the woman holding Fanny’s baby and falling in love as each moment passes while the women around her fret for the future of the unmarried woman with child whose life is seen as ruined. We see Claire’s accidental reveal of birth control instructions, stirring the energy of the room with hope and fear for something that could disrupt their world should they choose to accept it. There is a complexity to the woman’s world, a constant negotiation with themselves and their patriarchal cage. It is an invisible labor in itself, a layer of work that the men in their lives cannot comprehend. And this is a scene that doesn’t exist in this way without a woman writing it.
Back on the ridge, Brianna is unraveling, the anxiety of her trauma revisiting her, and we get another counsel of women as Marsali reaches out to her with a remarkably emotionally mature heart. Marsali of the show is becoming such a remarkable character - open and earnest and brave. What I love about this scene is that they are both survivors, and Marsali knows that sharing that with Bree will be invaluable to her, to know she is not alone, that these demons don’t need to hold us in their thrall and part of dispelling their power is speaking of them. Long before there were therapist offices, there were women confiding in each other in front of the hearth.
The women of Outlander know that we’re not alone in this, and when we stand with each other, we’re stronger than we could ever imagine.

Eddie revealing a deleted scene where Tina and Leta jointly save Newt and his case
This scene is significant on multiple levels, for it shows that
Tina understands how much the case means to Newt
Leta possesses great magical skills and truly cares for Newt
Two strong complex female characters work together to protect the male protagonist
Cutting this particular scene for the sake of time makes me question the director’s vision and whether he can do justice to the wonderful female characters so carefully created by J.K. Rowling.

I’m one of the four of the NewGlasgowGirls that will be going for the Great Glencoe Challenge this July!
We will be doing a trekathon (that’s 26 miles in 12 hours) and we are doing this in support of World Child Cancer! Hoping to raise some awareness and money for the great work that they do.
Any support or donations is much appreciated! You would also stand a chance to win something from a raffle if you donate. ☺️
Thank you very much!

yes @renmayling I’m sure you can do this! Only wish I could be there with you!
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are a group of women who met by chance at an Outlander filming location in Glasgow, Scotland in September 2016. We became friends and formed the New Glasgow Girls, and from our locations all over the world we have been having a lot of fun in the world of Outlander.
We really admire the good works of the Outlander stars, Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan - the way they both use their public profiles to do good in the world.
We are going to take part in the Great Glencoe Challenge on July 1st and decided to fundraise for WCC to support Caitriona Balfe’s work for World Child Cancer!
It’s a win win as we are improving and challenging our own health and fitness and (we hope) contributing to the health of children who are ill and needing resources, facilities and health care for the best outcome.
We invite you to sponsor our efforts and to help World Child Cancer in their wonderful work.
Besides the fact that as a donor you’re doing something good to help children and their families, you will also get the chance to win some really nice prizes in our raffle (see picture below). The first 40 donors and the raffle prize winners will also get a WCC wristband. You have to agree to let Justgiving send us your email address.

PS: We would like to thank these amazing Outlander fans Graham & Stewart Malcolm for their kind donation of the autographs.

*I get to know several girls from this lovely group on Twitter for a while. They’re all very sweet ladies who love Outlander and the cast & crew deeply and are very supportive to the charities of Cait and Sam. This time I’m really impressed by what they are going to do, both the 26.2 miles (!) of hiking and the way they’re going to donate their precious autographs for this funding, as we all know it takes tremendous time (sometimes long-time waiting in the cold and wet weather), energy and a lot good luck to obtain those autographs.
Really appreciate everyone who would like to help World Child Cancer by making a donation to this project (and you may have a chance to win a lovely gift) or to World Child Cancer directly.
