🛀🏾 10 Steps of Soap Making 🛁 ⚖️ 1. Measure/weigh, melt oils and butters. Cool to approx 100 degrees Fahrenheit. ⚖️ 2. Measure/weigh water. Measure/weigh lye. ⚖️ 3. Measure/weigh fragrance. Prepare colorants. 💛💚💙 👩🏽‍🍳 4. Add lye to water, (NEVER water to lye) and stir. Mixture will heat and turn cloudy. Ensure ALL lye crystals have dissolved. 👩🏽‍🍳 5. When lye/water mixture looks like clear plain water (with that film on top) measure/weigh and add sodium lactate. Cool within 10 degrees of oils. 👩🏽‍🍳 6. Hydrate clay (if using) and stick blend into oils. 👩🏽‍🍳 7. Add lye water to oils. You can pour the lye water down the stick blender shaft to avoid splatter. Stick blend to emulsification. 🌹 8. Add fragrance and colorants and stick blend to trace. 📦 9. Pour into mold, cover and wrap for gel phase. ⏳ 10. Cut after 24-48 hours. Looking to learn more about soapmaking?
