I think Charmy knew he was transmasc at a very young age (I like to imagine him introducing himself to Vector as "I'm Charmy and I'm a boy!" and Vector just confusedly going huh? Well it's nice to meet you. He doesn't know anything for Years he thought Charmy was just a very strange outspoken cis toddler).

I think he starts having Thoughts about gender as he gets older, in the very familiar "I feel weird but I can't quite pinpoint why". They're a boy like a strawberry is a berry. You know how it is.

My break went longer than I expected whoops, but it makes sense since I was well, graduating.
