In some people, memory problems may be helped by taking Huperzine A. It is thought to work in part by protecting neurons from damage that occurs when they are exposed to harmful substances or waste products. The exact mechanism by which Huperzine A improves memory is not clear; it may be linked to the way it boosts levels of a brain chemical called acetylcholine, which helps control alertness and memory.

Both Oxiracetam and Aniracetam are used by individuals who are looking for memory and focus boosting properties to help support brain function and increase their mental clarity so that they are able to feel much more alert and focused when it comes to working on a project.
As their name indicates, the compounds are both a part of the racetam family and are strictly similar to the first racetam, Piracetam - though they are both slightly more potent..

As with many noots in today's cognitive-enhancing world, a lot of the side effects come from overdosing, rather than as a result of normal dosing - take caffeine for example, if you drink a standard amount of cups, although you fee a lot more alert you could STILL may feel negative effects like anxiety and nervousness.
Though most nootropics do not have this problem and the side effects only come as a result of overdosing, and nefiracetam follows this trend.
So if you were overdosing and going against the recommended mg's I have laid out for you in this article, you could expect to experience things like:

Again, these come as a result of OVERDOSING, so as long as you stay within the recommended amounts you should be more than fine and you will only experience the awesome side of nefiracetam.
Best Dosage for cognition
Before we get into the dosage amounts, I want to first talk about how to consume them for the best effect.
It is recommended by users to take it after eating a meal with healthy fats.
As mentioned in the beginning, from clinical research it was found that you will need to take this nootropic for several days (about 7/8) before you begin to feel the effects - so follow this recommendation when you begin using this cognitive enhancer.
Now, how much do your body and brain need to start feeling the effects of cognitive function?
Many people will take 150-450mg dosages of Nefiracetam spread out throughout the day (3 capsules taken at different times) as this is sort of the sweet spot where one can eventually feel the effects in terms of a cognitive boost.
So for that reason, I would recommend doing the same, probably taking a capsule of 150mg as soon as you wake up, one at noon and one in the evening.

Study Finds Nootropic Supplementation Improves Cognitive Performance and Mood in Adults With an Optimal Diet
A new study from 2022 conducted by researchers at Swinburne University, Melbourne, has found that the cognitive and mood benefits of nootropic supplements depend on the dietary status of those taking them.
With 141 participants in the study – some with ‘optimal’ diets and some with ‘sub-optimal’ diets – results showed that those who had an 'optimal' diet before supplementation experienced improved attentional performance along with lower state anxiety and mental fatigue.[1]
The study was a randomized, double blind, placebo-controlled trial and examined the effect of a multi-nutrient nootropics supplement containing B group vitamins, Bacopa Monnieri and Ginkgo Biloba on memory, attention, mood, and biochemical markers of nutrient status in participants over 12 weeks.
The participants were all middle-aged adults with an average age of 52.84 years. A mixed model and repeated measures analysis revealed that compared to a placebo group, active treatment was associated with significant increases in levels of B1, B6, and B12.

While this did not support the primary hypothesis of the study, a closer investigation revealed that individuals with an 'optimal' diet prior to supplementation had significantly improved attentional performance when given active treatment.
Moreover, a number of additional secondary outcomes showed positive effects of supplementation even in the absence of a main effect. These included lower state anxiety and mental fatigue levels in specific subgroups.
This study provides valuable insight into the effectiveness of nootropic supplements when the user has already established an optimal diet.
For those attempting to improve their attentional performance and emotional regulation, adding supplemental nutrients can be beneficial in alleviating anxious states and mental fatigue.

Cyclazodone: Everything You Need To Know [Benefits & Side Effects]

Cyclazodone is a CNS stimulant with amphetamine-like and antidepressant effects. Biohackers use it for better focus, energy & increased motivation (Cyclazodone is not meant for human consumption).
So I was doing some light research on a new potential Nootropic for a stack I'm currently trying to make and came across an interesting Smart Drug called; Cyclazodone. 
One of the things that I find interesting about Cyclazodone is that the effects have been compared to those of amphetamine (but without all the negative side effects).
This, obviously, made me want to dive a little bit deeper into it - especially since people are reporting better focus, sociability, and elevated mood when they take this stimulant.
So in this article, I will take a closer look at the following;

.... So without further ado, let's jump straight to it!
What is Cyclazodone?
As I briefly mentioned in the beginning, Cyclazodone is a central nervous system stimulant with amphetamine-like effects with possessed anorexic efficacy.
The chemical name is; 2-(cyclopropylamino)-5-phenyl-1,3-oxazole-4-one. The molecular weight is 216.24 and the formula is C12H12N2O2.
Cyclazodone was first synthesized back in the '60s by an American company called; The American Cyanamid Company.
The idea behind Cyclazodone was to develop a safer CNS-stimulant to Pemoline and other similar derivatives.
Pemoline was used in the treatment of ADHD and narcolepsy but is no longer available in the US.
The FDA withdrew the approval of pemoline due to its negative side effects in children - some leading to liver failure.
Compared to Pemoline, Cyclazodone is a much safer CNS stimulant and closely related. That being said, it is only available for scientific research purposes in the US.
Cyclazodone is proven in clinical trials to be extremely effective as an energy booster in animal models with anorexigenic effects. It has unique features that set it apart from other sympathomimetic drugs with less stimulatory activity and toxicity compared to amphetamines.

What does it do in the body?
Cyclazodone is a 4-oxazolidinone stimulant that produces focus enhancing, wakefulness, and alertness effects.
Structurally it's very similar to 4-methylaminorex.
When it comes to how it affects the body we have very limited data available. However, it has been shown to be extremely effective for cognitive fatigue with its nootropic properties.
That being said, it is speculated that it likely possesses a hepatotoxic, negative impact on blood pressure, and other not-known toxic effects.
We do, however, have some animal models where Cyclazodone has been shown to exhibit powerful CNS and antidepressant effects.
It also possesses anorexic efficacy and potency and the toxicity of cyclazodone is low compared to other amphetamine-like agonists.
Cyclazodone impacts the TAAR1-receptor in the brain. TAAR1 is the main regulator of serotonin, dopamine, and noradrenaline.
This leads to the release of increased concentrations of these 3 neurotransmitters in the brain which in turn enhances cognition through better concentration, mood, and energy levels.
What are the benefits and side effects?
It's worth noting that most of the benefits and side effects experienced on Cyclazodone are anecdotal.
Since the data is limited I found some interesting reports on the Subjective Effect Index (SEI).
The Subjective Effect Index is basically just a huge collection of articles designed to serve as an in-depth reference work for the subjective effects people are experiencing when taking psychoactive substances.

When we're talking about the side effects of stimulants, one thing that comes to mind is how they affect your heart.
Since Cyclazodone acts as a mild sympathomimetic, it has the potential to elevate blood pressure and heart rate by increasing norepinephrine release.
Norepinephrine is the neurotransmitter responsible for regulating both energy levels and heart rate.

I thought it would be interesting to find 1 or 2 threads on Reddit to see what people that are actually taking Cyclazodone have to say.
I have linked to each thread so you can go over and read it for yourself.
The first thread I found is by a user called; u/-redan.
Redan starts off by saying that Cyclazodone is pretty amazing. He recently tried it and was impressed by the focus enhancement.
That being said, he did notice an anxiogenic effect.
He then goes on to say the following;

What Are The Benefits And Side Effects?
The data on potential benefits and side effects when taking Triacetyluridine is well documented.
From the studies I could find about Triacetyluridine here's what they show:

In terms of side effects I couldn't really find any conclusive evidence since Triacetyluridine is generally well-tolerated.

That being said, if we follow the same dosages as used in the study I mentioned earlier then an effective dose would look like this:
A low dose: 50-100mg
A medium dose: 150-200mg
A high dose: 250-300mg
In the study they used 200mg. From the various anecdotes I could find people are using anywhere from 200 to 500mg.
500mg seems to be waaay over the top if you ask me. I would highly recommend starting out small and then work your way up.
It usually comes in both powder form and capsules. One capsule is 100mg and should be enough to provide long-lasting and jitter-free energy.
Even though it has a low tolerance buildup, most people take TeaCrine on and off (cycle in and out).

He starts off by saying that he has already gone through 2 bottles (1gram). The effects he experiences on/off are pronounced.
One thing that he notices is how there is no crash after discontinueing (he states that he feels less inclined to consume coffee the days after).

As I have already alluded to earlier Primavie Shilajit has a lot of benefits. I will list the benefits right below which will be a combination of what I could find in the literature as well as from my own experience.

In terms of side-effects I couldn't really find any conclusive evidence/anecdotes that found anything noteworthy.

In terms of fatigue, one thing that I have noticed is that I'm not mentally exhausted in the evening anymore.
This is the benefit that actually has been the most noticable.
I work a 9-5 job and will usually be exhausted by the time I get home. To put this into perspective I usually try to write an article for Nootropicology early in the morning because I know writing in the evening is a no-go for me.

He then goes on to say that he personally can notice a difference in his lift as well as feeling more powerful or 'dynamic' as he puts it.
He finishes off by saying that his recovery in the gym is shorter and how Primavie has helped improve his muscle density and muscle strength.

How Do You Take It & What Does It Taste Like?
A question I often see on forums is; What does Primavie Shilajit taste like? First off, it's important to note that there are different grades of this compound.
Typically the darker powders are stronger in flavor with a somewhat 'earthy' bitter taste.
The powder I bought doesn't have that strong of a taste. That being said it does taste a little weird, but it's something you get used to.
This might not sound appealing for most of you guys but whocares, it's a 'superfood' so I just chug it down.
The way you take Primavie Shilajit is by blending it into hot drinks, shake or just put it in a glass of water and chug it down.
That being said, Primavie Shilajit is traditionally consumed with raw milk in parts of North India, Pakistan, and Nepal.
For those of you who don't enjoy the taste of the powder Primavie Shilajit can be consumed as capsules as well.
What's The Right Dosage?
As is the case with most Nootropics and supplements the dose you should take really comes down to your personal goals, body weight and tolerance.
That being said from the information I could find online prior to buying it, a regular dose is 250 mg once a day which is equivalent to 1 capsule if you buy Primavie Shilajit from NootropicsDepot.
I personally started out with 125mg (half a capsule) to measure any potential side-effects. I didn't notice anything and gradually increased my daily intake to 2 capsules (500mg) which seems to be the sweet-spot for me.
It's impossible to overdose on this mineral powder and it is known to be safe, to consume over a long period of time.

What is different about Dynamine Methylliberine is that it's more powerful than other Xanthines and have a stronger impact on mood and energy levels.
From what I could find about Dynamine Methylliberine it's clear that if you take it by itself without stacking it with other nootropics the effects are relatively short-lived and aren't as intense as caffeine.
So be aware that if you're an avid coffee drinker like myself, the effects of Dynamine Methylliberine can be pretty lackluster compared to pure caffeine.

One of the downside with Dynamine is that there are very limited information about it since it's a relatively new Nootropic.
That being said I found an interesting study here looking at the safety & side-effects of short-term use with Dynamine Methylliberine alone and stacked with theacrine in healthy young adults.
This is the first study to look at the effects of Dynamine Methylliberine when taken alone and stacked with another nootrpic.
They measured heart rate, blood pressure, ECG and did blood work on the test subjects.
What they found was taking 100-150mg of Dynamine daily by itself or stacked with theacrine (25-50mg) had ZERO negative impact on health markers.
That being said the authors of the paper acknowledge that there are limitations to their research which they go more into details with right here.
In terms of benefits, here's what people say they experience when taking Dynamine:
They get 'a clean energy' like caffeine but without making them jittery
Dynamine Methylliberine kicks in faster and is more short-lived than caffeine

Can You Stack Dynamine Methylliberine With Caffeine?
Taken by itself Dynamine is a mediocre Nootropic at best. Stacking with caffeine however, is a totally different ball game.
When combined with caffeine is where Dynamine really shines.
Dynamine acts as a negative allosteric modulator on adenosine receptors with less tolerance buildup than caffeine (caffeine blocks adenosine receptors).
What this means is that Dynamine enhances the effects of caffeine by allowing a smaller amount of caffeine to block these receptors.
One great thing about this is that if you're looking to enhance the benefits and effects of caffeine (but without the need of taking more) you can stack a low dose of caffeine with Dynamine.
This also prevents all the negative side-effects that are associated with consuming too much caffeine (jittery being the big one).
I found a study on Pubmed showing that when you stack Dynamine Methylliberine with Caffeine it can extend the half-life of caffeine, which is pretty interesting.
What's The Best Dosage?
I couldn't really find anything conclusive when it comes to the right Dynamine Methylliberine dose to take.
That being said if we look at the study I posted above we can get a good sense of what an effective and safe dose would look like.
In the study they used the following dosages:
100mg of Dynamine
150mg of Dynamine
Dynamine stacked with TeaCrine (100mg Dynamine + 50mg TeaCrine)
Dynamine stacked with TeaCrine (150mg Dynamine + 25mg TeaCrine)
Dynamine Methylliberine comes in both powder and capsules. One capsule is 100mg which I would consider a low-dose.
On NootropicsDepot they recommend taking 1-2 capsules a day (100-200mg/day).
What Reddit Users Say About Dynamine Methylliberine
The first thread I could find on Reddit is by a user called; u/RevonM. The original post is just a short simple question where he asks people for more information about Dynamine.
What's interesting however, is the responses he gets in the thread.
One user says that he has tried Dynamine + Caffeine + Theanine and it has worked really well for him. He goes on to say that the Dynamine Methylliberine itself was the first thing to kick in or as he puts it:

Here's what one study concludes:

It also seems to have Anti-inflammatory effects by blocking leukotrienes from forming.

What's The Right Dosage?
From what I could find on Reddit people take anywhere from 50mg to 2grams.
2 grams seems to be pretty over the top if you ask me. I always recommend taking a smaller dose in the beginning and then gradually working your way up.
The Succinate Powder comes in 10 and 30 grams. As for the capsules, you can get 60 or 120pills. One pill is 125mg.
As a rule of thumb, I always start out with the lowest dose possible which in this case is 125mg (1 capsule).

Fasoracetam: Everything You Need To Know Before Buying
Fasoracetam is a cognitive enhancer. It belongs to the racetam family and helps in preventing memory loss, reduce symptoms of depression and gives a nice clean brain boost / alertness.
So like it's always the case I did some research on new potential Nootropics last week. I was trying to find a new potent compound to add to my stack.
I came across a relatively new Nootropic called; Fasoracetam which I will take a closer look at in this article.
As I'm writing this I have ordered 5 grams of Fasoracetam and will test it out right when I get my package.
I will keep this article updated and share my own experience with Fasoracetam, what it does for me, what benefits/side effects I experienced and so on (you know the drill).

What Is Fasoracetam?
As briefly mentioned in the beginning, Fasoracetam is a powerful cognitive enhancer that belongs to the racetam family.
For the geeks out there, like myself, you can also find Fasoracetam under the more technical names such as; NS-105, LAM-105, and NFC-1.
To give you guys some quick background information Fasoracetam was first made back in the 90's.
The idea behind this Nootropic was to create a compound that would help treat dementia.
The company behind Fasoracetam spent over $150 million developing this Nootropic, allegedly, which later failed miserably.
From the information I could find, Fasoracetam failed the phase 3 clinical trials back in the day due to lack of efficacy.
Fasoracetam was pretty much a 'forgotten' Nootropic until 2012 where the interest was revived.
A company called Aevi Genomic Medicine began clinical trials in 2015 in adolescents with depression, anxiety and ADHD.
I tried to find some more information about how far in the process they are and found this study where it states that Fasoracetam is currently in phase 2 clinical trials.

How Does Fasoracetam Work?
If you're familiar with other racetams, you'd know that the exact mechanism of action is not fully understood.
That being said we do have some information available (and a few studies) where scientists hypothesize, and test, how it works.
From one study I could find here's how Fasoracetam works:
It increases acetylcholine production
It increases the uptake of choline
It increases GABA-receptors in the brain
The study suggests that Fasoracetam also activates certain types of glutamine receptors
If you're curious to know more about these potential benefits I have listed above you can find the study here that goes more into details about the mechanism of action.
What Are The Benefits?
Before I talk about the potential benefits of Fasoracetam it's worth noting that we don't really have any conclusive evidence available when it comes to the benefits.
Most of the research and experiments are done on rats.
That being said, we do know that it is a relatively safe and non-toxic Nootropic.
So keep in mind that the benefits and side-effects I will talk about here are purely based on anecdotes and my own experience (once I get my Fasoracetam).
From the information, and anecdotes, available online here are the benefits I could find:
Fasoracetam May Prevent Memory Loss
Going through one of the studies I linked to in the beginning an interesting thing I noticed is that fasoracetam was reported to prevent memory loss.
Although only tested in rats, scientists noticed that it reduced amnesia which would make sense since it increases acetylcholine and reduces GABA-B activation.
Acetylcholine is an ester of choline that serves as a transmitter of nerve impulses.
It May Help With Depression
High levels of GABA in the brain have been linked with specific mental disorders.
The two most common disorders are;
Depression
Anxiety
In this animal study we can see that fasoracetam helped in reducing symptoms experienced when dealing with depression and anxiety.
The experiment was a 'shuttle-box test' which basically is a 'learned helplessness test'.
What the scientists discovered administrating Fasoracetam repeatedly was that it reversed the failure to escape in the shuttle-box test.
The rats in this experiment were previously exposed to an inescapable footshock which makes the outcome that more interesting.
Here's what the scientists concluded from the experiment:
"These findings suggest that NS-105, which lacks an effect on monoaminergic systems, has potent antidepressant activity, which may involve up-regulation of GABA(B) receptors after repeated administration."

What People On Reddit Say About Fasoracetam
In terms of cognitive enhancement, creativity and just an overall boost in brain performance, I couldn't find any conclusive evidence/studies that would support these claims.
However, I did find a lot of personal experiences from people on Reddit which is EXTREMELY fascinating.
A user called; u/xXCsd113Xx3 talks about how Fasoracetam has changed his life. You can read the entire thread here.
Basically what he talks about in the thread is that he's been experimenting with Fasoracetam.
The positive results he got using it daily prompted him to write the review.
He bought a bottle from Nootropics Depot.
When he started taking Fasoracetam he knew it was something different from the get-go.
He describes how his body started to tingle, words came into process faster.
Most noticable was the effect Fasoracetam had on his anxiety.
His anxiety that constantly was lurking in the background was completely gone or as he says;
"It felt as though I had finally been released from a prison cell."

Does Fasoracetam Have Any Side Effects?
Like it's the case with most Nootropics, Fasoracetam has potential side-effects. It's worth noting that it is a new Nootropic so the data is limited.
That being said most of the negative side-effects people are reporting are;
Headaches
Dry mouth
Fatigue
The side-effects however, seem to be dose depended. An overdose report details how a 27-year old man ingested well over 1000 mg fasoracetam stacked with Phenibut.
The outcome of overdosing was bradycardia which is basically a condition where the heart rate slows down to 60 beats per minute.
In terms of 'normal use' of Fasoracetam I couldn't find anyone reporting any negative side-effects.
What's The Best Dosage?
In terms of an effective dose, it really comes down to your own personal goals as well as body weight.
If we take the information in the studies I have listed throughout this article we can see that most of the doses used were; 100, 200 and 400mg taken multiple times a day.
From the Reddit threads we can see that most people take anywhere from; 10 to 800 mg.
The dosage depends on if you buy in powder or capsule form. Fasoracetam can also be taken sublingually (under your tongue) in a dose that ranges anywhere from 10 and 20 mg/daily.
Given that there is such a huge difference in the doses it’s hard to make any conclusions about what dose you should take.
I always recommend starting out with a low dose and then gradually work your way up.
Where Can You Buy Fasoracetam?
It's is a legal racetam which means that you can find it on most websites selling Nootropics.
I personally only buy from NootropicsDepot. I usually receive my packages within 10 business days.
What I like about them is that they lab test their products to ensure the quality of their products.
