One of the many things that I adore about Hannigram is how their story throughout the show is so saturated in conflicts and fights and manipulation and that they’re very unstable, destructive people— But they have these soft moments throughout, a sense of adoring romanticism with each other that’s akin to worship. And in my mind, those sentiments and behaviors could potentially shine through with affection and intimacy, particularly with body worship and domestic little things they like about each other and do……

Hannibal’s sense of smell and how he’s always sniffing Will, snatching Will’s jacket off of Alana to take to Florence like a comfort blanket, saying “It has heat, a fevered sweetness,” about the scent of Will’s encephalitis. Hannibal sniffing Will to check in on how he’s feeling through the corresponding bodily chemicals, what and how much he’s drunk and eaten throughout the day. Hannibal being both the sweater and blanket thief of the two because Will’s sweaters smell like Will, so it feels doubly possessive, and he subconsciously grabs for what smells like him at night. Hannibal has some unusually animalistic subconscious behaviors, rubbing his cheek against Miriam Lass’s hair when he subdued her in his office and doing the same when Will finally embraces him in wotl to scent-mark his prey and his mate/equal as being his. This is something that many predatory mammals— especially more social species like lions and wolves— do in the wild.

We can clearly see thanks to the many negligibly clothed and close-up shots of Hannibal and Will we get throughout the series that they both have very sturdy, decently muscled bodies with soft edges, it’s just that their proportions are different and Hannibal’s like an inch or two taller. Will has more of a rectangular body shape and Hannibal has a more triangular one. They’d be all over the physical manifestations of their beloved’s dangerous competency, I think Hannibal would be just as into Will’s workman’s hands and great biceps as Will would be into Hannibal’s slender fingers and veiny hands and muscled arms. And they both have a bit of a tum, as is normal and natural and hot! Hannibal’s is more obvious in profile and during the pool scene and Will’s is pretty obvious when he lifts his shirt to flash poor Chiyoh his scar. The whole thing about them baring their soft underbellies to each other….. kissing and kneading each other there. Hannibal having a fixation with Will’s “smile”, Will having his usual crazy eroguro fantasies about it too.

Hannibal having very prominent, sharp canines that’d be more accurately called actual fangs thanks to Mads’s portrayal of him….. Hannibal knowing that smiling at others promotes trust and bonding but that sharp teeth and prominently altered features can do the opposite on a subconscious, instinctual level, and thus getting in the habit of his usual friendly, serene close-lipped person suit smile to compensate. Will making him laugh or walking in on him flossing or smth and getting caught staring. Hannibal leaving a bite scar at some point as cannibal romanticism, Will loving the feel of them on him when they kiss, when they have sex, when Hannibal tests sauce or soup from his fingers.….. Will laughing until he can’t breathe when he discovers that Hannibal drinks his made in rural France ultra-safe recycled plastic overpriced floral sparkling waters by biting a hole in the bottom and downing them in a few sips like Dracula
