ppl are really so beyond weird about Rory Gilmore. just came across a video on Instagram that was like a “Rory being humbled” compilation and the comments are full of people professing genuinely violent amounts of hate toward this character calling her a self centered narcissist … even worse a bunch of think pieces about how it’s Lorelai’s fault she turned out this way because she coddled her too much or whatever … every time I get reminded how much people at large actually despise women/female characters I feel like I need to lie down like. Rory is flawed and privileged, yes, her tragedy is being caught between both of the tax brackets she was raised in and never fully being able to acclimate to either one of them. she struggles to figure out who she is, she struggles with her self worth, she struggles in her romantic relationships — very standard coming of age stuff that I guarantee people would not be calling a male protagonist an evil heinous bitch for. I know the “you can’t even handle her” horse has been beat to powder on this site but my God I couldn’t keep quiet after being confronted with such an insane sighting of this behavior in real time

Knitting and crochet projects I’m working on! For those who are interested or for those who want to know why none of my fics have been updated 😂

Mainly I’m recreating this jumper Joey wears in Dawson’s Creek season 2

I think it’s actually tinier yarn and needles than I’m using and tiny 1x1 rib but I’m doing stockinette on 2mm with 2ply yarn cones I got on eBay

1920s waistcoat using this pattern

I've been working on the back panel and I'm using cotton yarn from drops.

And finally my crochet project right now is a 1920's filet crochet cassocky thing

Here's the paprpottern which is in french 😂 but not too hard to figure out if you know your business and a video of me slumped over on the sofa with my sweater on backwards.

I've been recording bits especially of the joey jumper that i'm hoping to stick up on youtube at some point!
