No matter where she was or who she was with, Mariana was always the quiet girl hidden in the shadows. Growing up in a house full of lies, she never knew who her real parents were, and the thought never occurred to her until her 10th birthday when she found a scrapbook under her “mothers” bed. It had her birth certificate, a ton of baby photos, and every kid’s nightmare, her adoption papers. Heartbroken by what she found, she snatched the scrapbook, hiding it in a mess of her closet, and waited. Mari waited six years to confront her foster mother on what she found on her 10th birthday. She sat her foster mother down and looked her in the eyes and said “You’re not my real mother.” That was the last thing Mari remembered saying.

When Mari opened her eyes, her cheek was stinging and her foster mother was standing above her with tears in her eyes. Mari could already feel the bruise start to form under her eye. But that was enough to know that no matter where she was, she wasn’t wanted. In the middle of the night, Mariana packed her bags, took all the money she could, and left. She didn’t know where she was going, all she knew she was headed to Los Angeles, where all the runaways went to make their lives something bigger and better. But boy was Mari going to get a lot more than she bargained for.

Coming up to a small neighborhood in a taxi, she found herself standing in front of one of the most well-known houses; the Murder House. She’d heard stories about the big, beautiful house in her time in Los Angeles, but she never thought she’d actually be able to see it. Curios, she ventured inside and immediately felt like home. But knowing she couldn’t live there, she hid down in the basement and waited for a family to come.

It felt like hours since she waited, and yet nobody has come home. Did anybody even live there? Mari decided it was time to explore more. She crept throughout the house, looking in every drawer and closet. She was just about to head back down to the basement, she heard something behind her. “Who are you?” The voice asked. But Mari didn’t answer. She was so scared, not expecting to see someone in the house. Soon enough, Mari looked down at her lifeless body.

Things are definitely going to change for this roleplay though. I'm going to be a more active admin from now on and I am so sorry about my inactivity so far. I decided to repost this. No time limit on it and it's not mandatory. I just think it's fun. 

Everybody has to die someday. So here’s your chance to explore that.

If your character is one of the many trapped souls in the Murder House, write about their death. Write how the died, how they were feeling about it, anything. It can be their first death, the one that trapped them in the Murder House forever, or it can be one they’ve experience since then. If your character is one of the living, write how they will die. Will they be murdered by a ghost in the infamous home or will they die surrounded by love ones at a ripe old age and be sent into the light or something else? The choice is yours. 

This is not a mandatory prompt; it is simply a chance for you to get into your character a bit more. Try to make this at least 3 paragraphs, third person narrative, and past tense. Please tag it with ‘nltlpromptone’ when you are done so we can read them all! And remember to have fun with it!

Why Do You Want Them?: Adam seems like a really strong, important figure in the house and I think he would add a good dynamic to the house as of current :D Also, who wouldn’t want to see Chris Hemsworth on the dash? ;D

Describe This Character In Your Own Words: Adam was just a good guy with bad luck. Never mal-intentioned, he thought he had the picture perfect life until the night his seemingly lovely wife, Brigit, shot him dead in cold blood. Now dead, Adam has taken it upon himself to become the landlord of the house as well as protecting its new inhabitants, not wanting them to experience his fate. He is a light-hearted person, offering advice to the kids of the house whenever it’s needed. He’s just trying to make the best of his situation.
