“Very, very curious,” Quincy wholeheartedly agreed. But they didn’t need to decide now, did they? Besides, there was still so much in the book to read and look at. “May I take it home? Maybe I can show my father, or Absolem. I’ll take mighty good care of it, I promise. And technically, I discovered it, so...” Quincy smiled widely as he brought it to his chest. “We can figure out what to do with it later, but until then, I’ll keep an eye on it.”
notmadjustfun:
“Nope! Your arms are just really that noodly!” Quincy grinned as he held the book in his hands, glancing over the pages. That’s when Theo had said he doesn’t see anything. “Have you gone blind? There’s so much to see! So much to read! And these pictures are just-“ but then the book shut immediately, leaving Quincy a bit startled as he placed the book back down on the counter. His eyes were wide with wonder and delight, a wide smile gracing his lips. “I told you,” he giggled before leaning against the counter. “Where, oh where, shall we hide it? I was thinking maybe another tree, definitely not the same tree, that’d be silly. But maybe somewhere lower this time! Like in a burrow, or maybe a well! Or we can place it inside of a box and bury it deep deep deep!”
Theo let the comment go over his head, he wasn’t in the mood to try and decipher the actual context. He was much more interested in what this book was, what it meant, and the secrets it held. Theo was happy that Quincy seemed just as intrigued. “I’m not so sure what we should do with it, but it is curious isn’t it?”

Quincy frowned when Theo struggled to open the book. “I didn’t think your noodle arms were that noodly,” he spoke with a confused voice, reaching out and taking the book in his own hands again. And with ease, he opened the front cover. Glancing up at Theo, Quincy shrugged, “Maybe you weren’t trying hard enough.” But even so, it didn’t make much sense as to why Theo couldn’t open a simple book. Lots of impossible things happen on a daily basis in Quincy’s life. But this was just.. plain odd.
Theo cocked his head to the side, confused about Quincy’s comment. “My arms are not made of noodles.” He paused for a few seconds before speaking again. “Wait, was that supposed to be a joke, like sarcasm?” He asked, but he sarcasm was always one of the things he never understood. Everyone used it, but it always went right over his head. He watched as Quincy opened the book with ease, but inside there was no writing. “Impossible.” He whispered, completely intrigued. “What do you see?” He asked Quincy, now knowing that something about this book was special. “I cannot see anything, but clearly you can.” Theo reached out a finger to point to a specific part of the page, but the minute he touched the book it snapped shut. “This is incredible!” Theo exclaimed, a smile forming on his face as he looked at Quincy.

Quincy was tickled as Theo examed the book, bouncing a bit with joy. It was always a treat when he showed his friends his cool finds. “I was exploring the forests of Neverland, and there was this tree. It was a very large tree, maybe an oak? But anyway, it was ginormous. And I decided to climb it. So there I was, climbing away, up and up and up. And I get on to a high branch for a rest, and when I looked over, there was a hole in the tree. In the hole was the book. So I took the book and portaled here as fast as I could!” Quincy took a breath, still smiling before continuing, “I haven’t really looked through it too much. There’s a lot of pictures in it though!”
Theo listened intently as Quincy explained, hoping his trails might give away a few clues about what this book might be. Unfortunately, nothing stuck out to him, so he tried to open it, but the book wouldn’t budge. Trying again, and again, Theo pulled at the cover, the pages, anything that might open the book…nothing. “Are you sure you opened it?” The asked politely, not sure why he couldn’t. He passed it back to Quincy. “You try.”

Quincy was practically bouncing for joy when he entered the book shop, eager to converse with his friend, but more importantly, eager to show him what he’s found. He opened his mouth to say something when he entered, only to be told to wait a moment. So Quincy stood there, lips pressed together and begging to be pulled apart and have words blasting out at the speed of light. But he waited, as patiently as he could. Once given the okay, Quincy smiled and quickly blurred out, “I’ve found something amazing!” He pulled a book out of his messenger bag and placed it on the counter in front of theo. “I was exploring, like one usually does, and I came across this book! It was in the middle of practically no where and it’s absolutely amazing and wonderful and I really think you’d like it!”
Sometimes Quincy spoke too quickly, and it took time for Theo to comprehend what was he was saying. It was overwhelming at times, but Theo didn’t mind because Quincy did always have something amazing to share. “What did you find?” Theo questioned right as Quincy set the book of the counter. Theo ran his fingers along the spine, feeling many notches in it, clearly from the many times the binding was broken while someone was reading it. “It seems very old. Where did you find it? What’s in it?”

It had been a quiet day in Hundred Acre Books, so Theo sat behind the counter reading. After a a few minutes, the bell rang, signaling the door had opened. “I’ll be with you in a minute.” He quickly finished his page and set the book down. “What can I do for you?”

――― LUKE NEWBERRY ? No, that’s QUINCEY HIGHTOPP! They are the 21 year old child of THE MAD HATTER. They can be described as OPEN MINDED, COLORFUL, AND KIND but can also be HYPERACTIVE, SPACEY, NEUROTIC . They were blessed with the power of PORTAL CREATION from birth. They use HE/HIM pronouns and are HOMOSEXUAL.
Growing up in Wonderland was the most amazing, beautiful experience that anyone could ask for. Quincy had a new adventure every day, ever since he was a child. His father, Tarrant aka The Mad Hatter, was always taking him on explorations and showing him everything wonderful and pure in the world. Quincy was naturally very curious, always seeking out the new and exciting things that the world had to offer. Sometimes he wandered around, some people looking at the small child and wondering why he was walking around lost without an adult. But that was just the thing. He wasn’t lost, never, not even once. He always found his way back home.
Quincy enjoyed most things in life. He enjoyed his tea parties with his friends and family, he enjoyed helping his father with creating beautiful hats, and once he got older he enjoyed smoking with Absolem and reciting poems together. But one thing he loved more than anything else was adventure. He’s been around to most of the places surrounding Wonderland, but there was so much more out there that he was dying to see. So when he had the opportunity to go to school in Calisota, he took it with so much eagerness that he was basically convulsing when he first arrived.
Taking after his fathers rather intense and outlandish personality, Quincy had a very wide eye and bizarre thing about him. He said things that didn’t always make sense to most and he has a very carefree and easygoing outlook on most things. Hardly ever getting angry, Quincy found light and humor in most situations, and befriended people wherever he went.
He was also born with wonderful abilities. For Quincy, it was the biggest blessing to have ever existed. He could create portals that would take him whenever he wanted to go. That whole wide world that he’s only dreamed of visiting? It was at his finger tips. He had the ability to go wherever whenever. And when he wasn’t doing school work, anyone can bet that he was traveling the world and living the best life that he could possibly live.
