i can yap abt persona here without spoiling anything to anyone so bro this is fucked. Makoto is quite literally born DOOMED. Death having been placed in his body at a young age basically full on lead him to the moment that hed become Nyx's seal. His one trait as a protagonist is basically accepting death, not fearing it, but depending on how u play the game, you can choose to cherish your finite life. And you do it, and you make the ultimate sacrifice, and you accept what had been coming a long time. Makoto was the key to the resolution of the world of p3. Chosen hero prophecy basically, except the prophecy is unknown. The future is unknown. The ending makes so much sense for the protagonist, whose whole life is basically surrounded with death. But throughout the playthrough, throughout acceptance of your own mortality, you also learn to cherish life youve been given. Biggest example is Akinaris SL. That shit got me in tears. And then obviously the protag and the SEES group + other SLs. Makoto didnt care for life until he had met people he cared for, and even when you get the whole Nyx plot twist, you get the options to say that "youre scared, nervous" But not because ur own death, but because you care for life itself. And Life itself encompasses all the people youve met along the way. Fighting for life, accepting your death. Makoto brought death, his existence is basically the reason of Nyx's arrival, and he himself locked Nyx away. He was the start and the end. He was birth, he was death all at the same time. All inbetween is the people, the bonds, SEES group, all that the protag and the player deeply care about, that are Life. And when Makoto passes, with a smile in his face, having found the meaning, having done what aigis found the meaning of life in, which is to protect others. Even if Makoto never feared death, his death had so much more importance this way. So he, who brings death, passed on, so SEES and all the living can keep going. And they keep going with their lives, remembering Makoto, remembering Death. They know they will be there one day. As Ryoji himself says, Makoto experienced what all will at some point, just a little earlier. Also the idea that Makoto, who didnt care for living, who didnt fear death, knew that he was dying, held onto his last strengths until the Graduation Day, to keep the promise hed made with ones he cared for. This is truly an amazing story. And dont get me started on Aigis, who is basically to learn life, who was so deeply intertwined with Makoto, who was thw one who remembered, the one who would live through it all. Amazing character. great fuckign game bro

countries will be like “nooooo our birth rate is falling exponentially and it’s effecting our economy” and immigrants will be like “hey can you let us in so we can boost your economy and fill your empty jobs and raise our children here” and inevitably the country is like “the only thing worse than a large scale collapse of our population is letting foreigners live here”
