Rhynth

(Rhynth from the Dark Horse Aliens vs. Predator comics)

Type: Mammalian Herbivore

Habitat: Ryushi’s arid yet Earth-like deserts

Size: At least a metre at the shoulders

Traits: Travels in large herds, stampedes and charges when threatened, flees if outmatched

A species of extraterrestrial livestock, rhynth are raised on frontier colonies for meat and sometimes leather, which is imported to the inner colonies, and in some cases, all the way to Earth. The beasts are placid and docile, and are often used as beasts of burden when not being farmed. Rumours abound of a colony being destroyed to an illness found in its rhynth, though Weyland-Yutani adamantly denies such claims.

While Dark Horse canon does not state that they are farmed elsewhere, in my mind, it seems likely they are found on worlds other than Ryushi, if only as livestock.
