CHARACTER SUMMARY

Not many get the chance to meet Wisteria (Belos/Philip Wittebane in canon TOH). She's been forced into a life of hiding after Sovereign Caleb placed a bounty for 25 million snails on her, but Wisteria's unapproachable and sarcastic demeanor makes those who meet her believe she prefers the solitude.

Wisteria is well aware of the Demon Realm's broader disdain for her, due to the incessant propaganda produced under the Titan's Court. She mostly takes it in stride, even if a nagging part of her longs for greater understanding and acceptance.

In reality, Wisteria is a gentle soul. Whether she'll allow others to see that depends on her willingness to place and build trust in them.

LIVING IN THE EARLY MODERN ERA

Born into the world as Philip Whyte, Wisteria was raised in 17th century Liverpool. She was well acquainted with hardship, as her parents Isaac and Elena Whyte struggled to put food on the table, yet she found joy in simple pleasures: the beauty of the natural world and the wonder of books.

As she became older, Wisteria realized she didn't identify with being a boy. When she came out to her parents, their initial reaction was deep concern and fear. But after thinking on it for some time and listening to their daughter, they decided to take her on a voyage to the New World in the hopes she'd find more acceptance there.

As Wisteria turned 6, the journey proved to be deadly: Isaac succumbed to illness and sadly passed away at age 30. Devastated yet determined, Wisteria carried on with her mother, her problems only exacerbating once they reached their destination.

TURMOIL IN COLONIAL GRAVESFIELD - MEETING CALEB

After a month in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, the remaining Whyte family members reached the deceptively quaint Gravesfield Colony, an inland settlement within the future state of Connecticut. Though they had their issues with Elena and Wisteria, the townsfolk were mildly accepting and accommodating of them.

Acting out of what she believed were the best interests of her daughter, Elena decided to marry a man named Gerold Bantel. He quickly became a friend of Elena's due to their shared experiences of losing their former spouses, and through this union Wisteria would meet Caleb, Gerold's only son- and her new brother.

Saying Caleb was difficult understates the negative impact he had on Wisteria: he constantly bullied her, mocked her both openly and behind her back, and dragged her into the chaos he'd created. Wisteria sometimes got into physical fights with Caleb, partly out of self-defense and partly out of frustration. Wisteria despised having to live under the same roof as Caleb. The only thing she hated more than him was Gravesfield itself.

TURMOIL IN COLONIAL GRAVESFIELD - TRAGEDY STRIKES

As Wisteria turned 10, Elena struggled with what the townsfolk referred to as "melancholy," or what society now understands to be Schizophrenia. She experienced debilitating symptoms, interfering with her ability to take care of her children. The town slowly turned on Gerold, seeing Elena's "melancholy" initially as a failure on his part, and later as a sign she was "bewitched" by him. Soon he was put on trial and, much to his family's protest, exiled from Gravesfield.

Elena fell into a deep despair, until one night she decided to take her own life by drowning herself in the nearby river. Wisteria was forced to stick with Caleb for her survival, and though the siblings had many rough patches, they tolerated each other as they matured.

In a rare moment of kindness towards Wisteria, Caleb even adopted the surname "Wittebane," an amalgamation of Wisteria's "Whyte," and Caleb's "Bantel," to symbolize their renewed sibling bond. However, everything suddenly took a turn for the worse when one night, Caleb disappeared from the town.

THE DEMON REALM - TRAPPED AND ALONE

Wisteria panicked when she realized Caleb was missing; all she had were improbable leads of his whereabouts and even less probable ideas. Still, determined to find her only remaining family member, she scoured the entire colony for signs of her brother until eventually she found Caleb, with a witch who called herself Evelyn.

When Wisteria tried to approach them, Evelyn created a makeshift portal using a vial of Titan's Blood, dragging Caleb through. Gathering up the courage, Wisteria followed them just before the portal sealed permanently behind her.

Entering the Demon Realm for the first time, Wisteria was absolutely horrified; it was as if she were transported into Hell itself: there were demons, witches, other horrific creatures beyond her wildest nightmares. Yet in spite of her fear, she pushed onwards.

THE DEMON REALM - BITTER REUNION

Eventually reaching Evelyn's residence, Wisteria immediately pressed her brother for answers; already hurt by him keeping Evelyn- and the Demon Realm- a secret from her, she wanted to know why he'd left. Much to her distress, Caleb admitted to outright planning on abandoning Wisteria to live with Evelyn.

Pained and deeply betrayed, Wisteria started an intense altercation with Caleb that escalated into a physical fight. In an attempt to stop their fighting, Evelyn rushed in front of Wisteria right before Caleb charged at who he thought would be his sister with a knife, accidentally stabbing Evelyn directly through the heart.

Fearful of her safety and of the brother she already had flimsy trust in, Wisteria fled the scene. She had nothing, and nobody, left.

THE DEMON REALM - MEETING WEAVER

By age 30, Wisteria despised everything about herself: not only was Caleb actively hunting her down with his newly, mysteriously acquired Titan abilities, but she continued to blame herself for Evelyn's death. Still, she hoped for an answer to her prayers, even if the answer she received was quite unexpected.

All over the Boiling Isles, Wisteria heard legends of an intriguing yet dangerous celestial being capable of granting wishes. With renewed motivation, she set off on a journey to the Titan's skull. Soon, Wisteria found herself face-to-face with a being called Weaver. Instead of granting her wish, they presented an offer: in exchange for giving her just enough magical ability to withstand Caleb's, she would help them achieve their freedom.

Not having anything to lose, Wisteria accepted Weaver's deal. They lived together in the Simmering Shoals for centuries, Wisteria finally finding the means to successfully transition. Within that time, however, Caleb's power and influence only grew.

LIVING BETWEEN WORLDS - MEETING KIKIMORA

One fateful pub visit, Wisteria ran into a 28 year old Kikimora, who was lamenting her rejection by the Titan's Court. After a lengthy, if slightly drunken, heart-to-heart about their circumstances, Wisteria offered her a job- and housing- at her and Weaver's cabin. Kikimora initially stumbled out of Grimgrub's Pub not thinking much of the meeting. However, once she reconsidered the offer with a sober mind, she eventually agreed to it.

6 years since then, Kikimora has proven herself to be a vital and invaluable part of the group. And in the present, with so much vitriol directed towards her, Wisteria needs allies like her more than ever.

LIVING BETWEEN WORLDS - THE PRESENT

Because of Kikimora owning her own portal to the Human Realm, she and Wisteria have access to a modernized Gravesfield. Wisteria herself has complicated feelings about visiting, but she also prefers being able to actually process half the food she eats.

For the most part, Wisteria wants to live a relatively peaceful life. Luz's sudden arrival couldn't have put a bigger damper on that...

If you asked around, folks in Gravesfield would call Luz various things: a hardworking 12th grade student, an eccentric artist, a prolific fanfic writer. But what would tie each answer together would be their additions of Luz being the local menace.

Being a self-proclaimed "weirdo," Luz likes to think of herself as detached from the need for acceptance, though in reality she yearns for that exact thing. Having no real friends to talk to, she finds heavy escapism in her favorite childhood franchise: The Good Witch Azura.

Luz is a good, kind person, but she fails to realize the harm her antics have in the real world.

LIFE IN THE BIG APPLE

Luz was raised in New York City, since her parents Camila and Manny both lived there. Her parents cherished and loved her dearly, and only wanted the best for Luz.

At age 6, Luz was diagnosed with ADHD. This- as well as her strange antics- led her to be bullied and ostracized in school. She would've had no real friends, if it weren't for Masha Bissell. Masha, also being a "weird kid," stood up for Luz. The two found solace in each other, quickly becoming the best of friends.

At age 8, Manny was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. She had difficulty wrapping her head around her father's disease, but realization hit when her parents agreed to move to Gravesfield, Connecticut in order to find better treatment for Manny.

LIFE IN GRAVESFIELD - PRIMARY SCHOOL

To say Luz disliked Gravesfield is an understatement. Not only was she distant from her best friend, but she was distant from everything she loved: charming bodegas, good street food, efficient subways, and the overall excitement of the city.

Manny passed away on August 22nd, just a day after Luz's 9th birthday. It was an extraordinarily difficult time for Luz, but she found an escape: The Good Witch Azura. Her father gifted her the first book in the series for her birthday, and though it took her a while to find the motivation to actually sit down and read it, once she did she became lost in its story.

LIFE IN GRAVESFIELD - SECONDARY SCHOOL

At age 12, Luz became infamous among her middle school classmates for her strange antics. She would smuggle live animals to class, create grotesque art with her own blood, and generally cause huge scenes in her classes.

Much to Luz's delight, however, Masha later moved in with their uncle, who happened to live in Gravesfield. The two rekindled their friendship until a new kid, of mysterious origin, named Viola (Vee in canon TOH) came into the picture.

At age 14, despite already having a rough time with high school, everything soured when Viola enrolled in Gravesfield High. After only a few weeks, Viola was popular among her classmates; her mere presence magnetized students to her. Viola also became the face of Luz's bullying, mocking her almost daily. Though Masha stood up for Luz at first, after a while they decided to turn on Luz to join Viola's group. Heartbroken and betrayed, Luz buried herself deeper into her fantastical world to the point where she became overly reliant on it.

LIFE IN GRAVESFIELD - THE PRESENT

Nowadays, at 18 years, Luz is on thin ice with her school's principal. She constantly gets herself into trouble due to her chaotic antics, landing her in his office more times than she can recall.

Camila and Luz struggle to find common ground. They argue about Luz's future, about her behavior, and about her education. As a result, their relationship is very much strained. Though Luz loves her mother, she just wishes Camila would try to understand her instead of "antagonizing" her.

Though Luz found a decently paying job at the Gravesfield Historical Society, after struggling to hold down most jobs, she despises it. Her boss, Jacob Hawkins, is a "complete manchild". The work day is long and boring. Hardly anyone visits the museum. The only reason she stays is because of her mother's insistence.

Luz wishes for adventure, for excitement, for a change in her life. Though she believes she's found it all in the Demon Realm, she ought to be careful what she wishes for...

Hi this is just a couple of silly gifs I made of an old Puritan man oc I made way back. He’s from a concept I made around 2015-2016 where the main cast are all reapers from different time periods and they have artifacts (tools/weapons) they can fuse together with other reapers to make bigger cooler artifacts for wraith hunting.

You probably won’t find any pictures of this concept online as much of it has either been deleted or if it is up not much of it explains anything, but just know this guy has been on my mind, and is sticking around a bit. (He’s not even the main character)

Apologies if I missed something obvious or if this is a spoiler question, but where is the Collector in the I See You comic?

(WHOA!!! MY FIRST NON-SCAMMER ASK IN MONTHS?!?! *explosion SFX*)

But yeah. Collector is going to be in a later "chapter".

They're going to play a bit of a smaller role in this compared to the canon finale. I wanted them to take a narrative backseat, so the story could primarily focus on the conflict between Luz and Philip/Belos. Beyond that I can't say much else, though, because... well, spoilers for an alternate epilogue.

He hasn't disappeared from this story! His time to shine is just later on in this comic.
