"Woven Skies, an organization focused on unity through immigration"
Materials - transportation, USPS stickers, markers
For our final project, our group decided to create a street art organization called Woven Skies, focused on promoting immigration unity through sticker slapping and graffiti culture in urban Miami spaces. We designed original stickers carrying messages of solidarity and resilience, then traveled to different areas to place them in public spaces like poles, signs, and benches. Each group member contributed to designing, printing, and slapping the stickers around the city. Through this project, we aimed to use street art as a tool for visibility, connection, and spreading pride in immigrant stories. Our final result was a collection of sticker slapped across a multitude of surfaces while being among the public, all documented and shared to build awareness and inspire community support.

Method of Conveyance - Sticker Slapping
Sentence - 'A united generation born of immigration"

Drawings of potential locations - back of stop sign, dumpster, FIU poster board
In light of recent events targeting immigrants and their citizen status, our group found it was important to create a phrase that unites the Latino community. Within Miami there are many Latinos, and coincidentally Miami also has it's own reputation for being the capital of modern street art. In Kendall we even have our own street artist Zeflorist (flower graffiti on postal) which is where I derived the inspiration for having our method of conveyance be through USPS sticker slapping. We would write our phrase on these stickers and slap them on a variety of different places to have our phrase be accessible to the Miami community. For documentation, pictures will be taken of where our stickers are and will then be edited into a gif/video compilation to convey how sticker slapping is accessible and easy.

Viral Interventions: Barbara Kruger QCQ
1. QUOTE - "I want my work to create commentary"
2. COMMENT - Initially I was going to pick the quote in the very beginning that saying how work Kruger wanted her work to be accessible. But I found that this quote on wanting her work to create commentary to be more interesting. Choosing the want for your work to create commentary is up to the artist, since their work could either mean something or maybe it doesn't. However, despite this I feel like commentary can arise in some shape or form.
3. QUESTION - Do you want your work to create commentary? On a particular subject your talking about? Would you want to start commentary or a conversation?

Viral Interventions: Present
Our sentence was "A positive generation through immigration, in the spirit of brother" which combined a variety of sources from all our our group members to create a phrase that embodied our cultures. Living in Miami, we are surrounded by immigrant stories and experiences that accompany us throughout our daily lives. The area of interest was the gym, where many could be find exhibiting the idea of "brotherhood" Under the recent scrutiny of immigrants in the US, it was important for our group to create a positive experience with our phrase, that could be found in building bonds with others.

P9.EMOTION - "Remembrance"
Materials - variety of objects sourced from my grandmother and/or gifted to me by my grandmother (assortments include perfume, bags, clothing, trinkets, artisan wor, etc. ) , suitcase, audio of pre-scripted conversation between my mom and grandma
Dimensions - 18in. x 24in.
For this project we were given the task to create a short installation based off an emotion we felt regarding a personal memory, with attention to how sound and/or light can shape this. I wanted to explore a recent and relatable experience that could be identifiable with many.
When my family would come from Peru to Miami, they would always bring trinkets and things only available in Peru to gift to me and my family. We would all sit around the suitcase while my grandmother would show us everything she brought. However, now the majority of my family moved to Miami including my grandmother, where now this experience becomes rarer and rarer. I wanted to focus on this reminiscing and create an object installation that can reflects the same suitcase that my grandmother would bring to create a personal connection to the audience.

Installation Research
For my final idea decided to use my third idea, where I would have a suitcase open filled with objects that my family members would bring with them to share with us. A few artists I looked into regarding this idea was Daniel Spoerri Tracey Emin for their use of objects in their art.

P.8 "Perception"
Materials - Shot on Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX07, edited in Premiere Pro,
Through overlaying multiple candid videos of my personal life, I aim to have the audience live through my perspective of life through music. Music is accompanying me all throughout my day, from when i first wake up to when I fall asleep. This constant playing of music leads me to distract myself where I start to focus on a variety of things. This allowed me to focus on the sense of creating overstimulation on certain parts of the video. Thanks to my friends who I enlisted as actors, I was able to create a more personal look into this experience.
