Faith boost
‭‭‭(NIV‬‬) Genesis‬ ‭30:24‬ She named him Joseph, and said, “May the Lord add to me another son.” Her hope of building upon her dream may be high. Faith and trust may be easy to rely upon, now that her prayers have been answered. A deeper understanding of God may be something that she strives for, in an attempt to gain more favor. Her relationship with God and her family are to be something that she hopes to continue. Listen to Power to Redeem (feat. Redemptive son
‭‭(NIV) Genesis‬ ‭30:23‬ She became pregnant and gave birth to a son and said, “God has taken away my disgrace.” Why that would be disgraceful could be tied into her competitiveness. Proving that she is favored by Jacob, seems to be the kind of recognition that she desires. Their son would also be one of favor, basically awaiting the day when Jacob's nation will be given to him. Blessing them with only one son could symbolize the Lord's plan for them. Listen to Grace Wins by Matthew West on @AppleMusic. https://itun.es/us/0TKu6?i=978471805

Gifts of faith
‭‭(NIV‬‬) Genesis‬ ‭30:22‬ Then God remembered Rachel; he listened to her and enabled her to conceive. That blessing could cause Rachel to feel justified. Jacob would presumably be thankful too, on account of his preference to Rachel. I would also guess that Jacob would treat their child favorably. Inheritances and things of that sort would seemingly be given unconditionally their child, despite their active worthiness. Daughter
‭(NIV‬‬) Genesis‬ ‭30:21‬ Some time later she gave birth to a daughter and named her Dinah. Dinah means something like vindication. Seeing as how she was Jacob's only daughter, she may somehow be vindictive. She could be exalted by Jacob, in the way that Leah was hoping for. Presumably, that would boost Leah's sense of self-worth. http://www.abarim-publications.com/Meaning/Dinah.html#.VwcC9cjK7CQ Listen to Daughters by John Mayer on @AppleMusic. https://itun.es/us/5lu3l?i=199051362

Sonny day
‭‭(NIV‬‬) Genesis‬ ‭30:20‬ Then Leah said, “God has presented me with a precious gift. This time my husband will treat me with honor, because I have borne him six sons.” So she named him Zebulun. The amount of children seems to designate a sort of pride within her. Zebulun means something like "a gift to be proud of". Vying for the approval of Jacob seems to be consuming the will of Leah. It has seemingly become her life's purpose. Listen to And the Boys by Angus & Julia Stone on @AppleMusic. https://itun.es/us/bgZyv?i=358823391 https://youtu.be/RUDc1frz22E

Giving birth
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭30:19‬ ‭(NIV‬) Leah conceived again and bore Jacob a sixth son. The addition to the family could bring upon new goals. The arms race, that is going on between the wives of Jacob seem to clearly foreshadow conflict. That conflict may even continue beyond the life of Jacob. Familial conflicting conquests seem to be an arising theme throughout this book; reasoning behind this could be a telling way to explain this works message. Rewarded
‭‭(NIV‬‬) Genesis‬ ‭30:18‬ Then Leah said, “God has rewarded me for giving my servant to my husband.” So she named him Issachar. The thought behind her son being a reward, seems to be exalting. That exaltation could lead to hope, causing her to pray for God's grace, upon her son. Jacob could see the birth as a blessing, as well. The idea of it as a sacrifice could play into the aforementioned notion. Listen to Horses In the Stable by Ty Dolla $ign on @AppleMusic. https://itun.es/us/7pE09?i=1037165568

5 Sons
‭‭‭(NIV‬‬) Genesis‬ ‭30:17‬ God listened to Leah, and she became pregnant and bore Jacob a fifth son. Leah would hope that these sons sway Jacob's opinion, about his love of her. If not, her hopes could be solely based upon protecting the well being, of her sons. Jacob would seem to be inclined to favoring Rachel's sons, but the bounty of sons by Leah could cause him to consider how they could lead to a nominal gain, by the nation. Knowing that God listened could be a good sign, for Leah's hope. Listen to Pony by Ashley Monroe on @AppleMusic. https://itun.es/us/L1LYs?i=315252076

Done deal
(NIV‬‬) Genesis‬ ‭30:16‬ So when Jacob came in from the fields that evening, Leah went out to meet him. “You must sleep with me,” she said. “I have hired you with my son’s mandrakes.” So he slept with her that night. Considering their lifestyle, I wonder about how Jacob would feel to oblige, to that agreement. I'd also would wonder about whether the present of mandrakes, from Rachel, would cause Jacob to become more affectionate with her, as well. There could be the hopes for another pregnancy, because of this. The hope for Jacob's affection and his share of land has caused sisters to quarrel bitterly, amongst themselves, in a way that could permanently change their relationship. Giving the profit
(‭NIV‬‬) Genesis‬ ‭30:15‬ But she said to her, “Wasn’t it enough that you took away my husband? Will you take my son’s mandrakes too?” “Very well,” Rachel said, “he can sleep with you tonight in return for your son’s mandrakes.” The remark by Leah seems to be directed, by spite. Leah's attempt to affect her husband's feelings toward loving her could cause her to exert her need to hoard. She is looking out for herself, but inadvertently, maybe even her children. Her relationship with Jacob could effect the profits that are shared with her sons. Listen to Take It All by Adele on @AppleMusic. https://itun.es/us/bzDcz?i=420075155

Profit sharing
(NIV‬‬) Genesis‬ ‭30:14‬ During wheat harvest, Reuben went out into the fields and found some mandrake plants, which he brought to his mother Leah. Rachel said to Leah, “Please give me some of your son’s mandrakes. Collecting the harvest could be another competition, between the sisters. The constant competing could be causing a divide, within the nation. By giving away the mandrakes, Leah could be submitting to the will of Rachel. That seems unlikely, considering their ongoing quarrel. Listen to Energy by Drake on @AppleMusic. https://itun.es/us/4xZO5?i=966997501

Joy out of sorrow
‭‭‭(NIV‬‬) Genesis‬ ‭30:13‬ Then Leah said, “How happy I am! The women will call me happy.” So she named him Asher. That happiness could speak to how unimportant she felt, because of Jacob. As a mother of many, she may find purpose, or the belonging, that she seemed to be missing. Her self image reads as one of a (look for, in the dictionary). Her joy could dispel the resentment, of her sister. Listen to Eternal Sunshine by Jhené Aiko on @AppleMusic. https://itun.es/us/R6Qw2?i=911912636

Sons, to you
‭(NIV‬‬) Genesis‬ ‭30:12‬ Leah’s servant Zilpah bore Jacob a second son. Another son, would make it seem as though Leah had accomplished her goals. Those goals could allow her to feel better, about being disregarded, by Jacob. That disregard may have left her feeling disapproved of, leading her to seek approval in other ways. I wonder about how Jacob would feel about it. Listen to Say You Love Me by Jessie Ware on @AppleMusic. https://itun.es/us/r-Mn2?i=909537180

Fortunate favouring
‭‬‭(NIV‬‬) Genesis‬ ‭30:11 Then Leah said, “What good fortune!” So she named him Gad. Prizing these children could show how they see it as a token of their love from Jacob. Being the favourite, by Jacob, could set them up, for future wealth. The child given the nation, would be seen as a success. So by proxy, their mother may consider herself successful. Family building
(NIV‬‬) Genesis‬ ‭30:10‬ Leah’s servant Zilpah bore Jacob a son. The familial arms race has shaped Jacob's relationship, with the two sisters. How this all affects their pride, could be the main motivator. As it continues, their family could become more divided. That divide could carry on, as the nation continues. Family feud
‭‬(NIV‬‬) Genesis‬ ‭30:9 When Leah saw that she had stopped having children, she took her servant Zilpah and gave her to Jacob as a wife. This has become a competition, that Jacob may not even be aware of. Their competition could lead to a separation, between the two. Adding more members to the family would help them build a nation. Cooperation, would seem to be the best for them now. Listen to National Anthem by Lana Del Rey on @AppleMusic. https://itun.es/us/DS8zD?i=493341482
