The City of Atlanta Georgia has decided to demolish the research and conservation center of the Amphibian Foundation. This organization works tirelessly to conserve the Frogs, Toads, Salamanders, Newts, and other amphibians in the United States. In addition, they provide key education for herpetologists on the care, conservation, and preservation of reptiles and amphibians.

This emergency need is compounded by the government mass firing of conservation officials and the pulling of funds from many of the country's conservation organizations.

Our building will be demolished in 2026, and we need to identify a new location (or locations) for 7 labs and over 1,000 animals, many of which are endangered and part of critical conservation programs.

We've identified a new location for most of AF, but not our research and conservation programs. We have an amazing lead, but it's not confirmed yet.

Our first fundraising project is the AF Emergency Fund as the minimum cost estimates to move this many labs and animals safely is $50,000. (It costs about 50 USD per animal to move them)

First fun fact: i made the Really Good decision to make this a weighted plush, not considering that a 7ft tall plush would, by default, already be kind of heavy, so he is very annoying to move around. I think this adds to his charm / hazard potential.

hims face. the eyes are set up to be swappable so i can close his eyes or make him scaries, for fun, but i liked how these ones came out so much that i haven't swapped them yet.

shoeses have cardboard for stability and sewn heel patterns :)

The Tail (tm). you can ruffle and smooth it back out. I got the fabric from howl fabric and it is delightfully soft (though it did get EVERYWHERE when we were putting it together). the tail tape fabric is actually covering up the hole where the tail was stuffed. The end of the tail has an additional bag of beads in it to make it weighted :)

of course, it's taped on! (sewn actually) finally, something i forgot to include in the original photo:

hims paw pillow. influenced entirely by the fact that the makeship plush has little paws.

Today was unlike any other.

We received a few donations and with them, we had our first real meal in over a month. For the first time in so long, we didn’t go to sleep hungry. We cried, not from pain this time, but from overwhelming joy and gratitude.
