The only decent shots that came outta my first roll of film. I used the beautiful Canon AE-1 Program. 

Lessons Learned: 

Always remember the speed number on the film. I overexposed all my shots.

Concentration is key. I must focus on the candid moments and how to capture them well. I was too trigger happy and forgot the roll is limited on shots.

My nigga Yarles Bamilton Charles Hamilton. I feel like he never left he just entered the game properly. Everybody at SOBs including myself are proud of his new form and that he’s releasing his music on a platform. This time it’s on us, his fans, to give back and support him after sharing 150+ mixtapes. We gotta spread the love with everyone else who may have not heard his message. 

Man, he has a band now and he was killing it with the grand piano. I got the cool the dap from him too. Hopefully he remembers I was wearing a Sonic the Hedgehog shirt. I mean I was the only person wearing one..

I found this record at The True Vine in Baltimore under the ‘local artists’ section. I think this shot inspired me to start a series of these.

I like Jojo Abot (the lady in the picture). Her stage performance and presence were genuine. She also had a really likable character. I wanted to ask questions and know her a bit but I am too shy and needed to color in my coloring books that nite. She’s got that Erykah Badu and Lagbaja (Konko Below dude) swag.

Moruf (the guy wearing a cap) is always good to watch live. He now has a live band doing renditions of his tracks from Shades of Moo LP in which they killed it. I believe he had a live band at Seed Gallery back in March. I can’t wait to see what he and Melo-X come up with next. I also need another Iman Omari x Moruf project.

The Black&White makes me feel I like I saw this in 70s.

Todd Rundgren, A Wizard A True Star

I discovered Todd Rundgren about over a year ago at a record store in NJ. I picked up the die cut masterpiece, A Wizard A True Star [1973]. Once I had opened it up I read a note that he published on the record and it stated, “Go ahead ignore me again.” With a statement like that I couldn’t pass this one up!

I added one of his majestic dancers because she was dope and I’m mad I couldn’t get a dope of the other dancer :/
