Nuparu showed incredible feats in robotics engineering when he created the kralhi. They were just a little too good at their jobs. Nuparu really perfected his work with the vahki. The vahki were doing a great job until Teridax secretly replaced Turaga Dume and took control of the vahki. It's not Nuparu's fault that Dume and the Toa Mangai let Teridax take over.
Also, I've heard some people say they think Onepu should have been the Toa Inika of Earth instead of Nuparu, and that slander won't stand here.
