The only thing I'm interested in about your robot characters is how long they'd last in the Ultrakill universe.

i normally interpret it as they're not speaking english. they're speaking a completely different language that would realistically require years of development and dictionaries and creation to accurately transcribe; and even if you do have the energy for that (times however many languages actually appear in your story), not everyone will have the energy to learn to read it.

the solution of course is to localize it to english. when someone says "goodbye" they're simply using a term who's closest equivalent in modern english is goodbye, they're not saying "god be with you" as was the original meaning.

and sometimes you have to make up a word because english words just don't cut it, but don't let that get in the way of you using english (or whatever other language you want to use!) but at least for me, the kind of writer that gets hung up on problems exactly like these, it's a nice workaround.

the biggest problem with writing fantasy in english is that there's really no alternate universe phrasing that carries the exact tone and context to the reader as "jesus fucking christ"

if i'm understanding the rotation axis right, according to the above illustration, it would actually be the sides that are mostly impassable, and the inside and outside would have more frequent days. but a side is constantly exposed to the sun for an entire half orbit, followed by being completely shaded for the other half.

this means that about twice a year the poles become traversable, but would be nearly completely barren during the rest of the year

imagine what this could mean for trade routes. for explorers, and nations. imagine a species that migrates to the other part of the ring as part of its life cycle

also, for short days, what would the gravity be like on the inside or outside? how does the rotation affect the way technology develops on the inside part? what would living on the inside of a torus really look like?

Mm, based on how you have an architect, is it safe to assume the cave you live in is no ordinary natural formation? Can you tell me more about it?

actually it used to be! even a popular as landering is, the mountains to the north are politically protected as both a wyvern habitat and an Old dragon habitat (thanks to phy) so it's pretty quiet up there. for an Old dragon, phy gets out a lot though, so she ended up collecting friends and partners.

initially it really was just a large cave in the mountains, but once the group got big enough we got maddie on board and she got to do a lot of fun stonemoving. nowadays the cave system represents a sketchbook, lots of weird experimental shapes and textures that she changes in her off time.

she likes the look of intricate Renaissance freizes and walls, but brutalism is more fun to build, so those tend to be the most common styles. now she sticks around because we let her practice, and also for Ezira's cooking.
