Upcoming Trending 27th - February 2025

Just recently, I found that Kiff, which, to me, seems like a mix of Adventure Time and Harvey Beaks, has a THIRD SEASON coming up. Upon learning about this piece of envy-arousing news, I was like, “HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?!?” If you were to look at this show, you might be curious as to how it fits the Disney brand. There wasn’t any merchandise for it either. It didn’t have novels. It didn’t have toys. It didn’t have clothing for young girls or boys.

The more I think of post-2013 shows that managed to exceed two seasons (Star vs. the Forces of Evil, Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventures*, DuckTales, the Big Hero 6 series*, Big City Greens, Amphibia, The Owl House, and now Kiff), the more I wonder why Wander Over Yonder didn’t have much luck passing muster with Disney.

Anyway, I have a question for this month’s Trending 27th topic:

What elements would you have included in S1 of Wander Over Yonder and what factors would you have taken into account to convince the higher ups that the show deserves at least three seasons?

This might be a bit confusing at first, but if you look at the big picture, the answer becomes clear. I said S1 in the question because the decision to cancel WOY happened a week before S2 premiered. Besides the ratings, there could have been other ways to make the higher ups appreciate WOY more while it was airing.

Keep in mind that WOY is a TV-Y7-rated show, so no highly objectionable answers allowed.
