we haven’t had a home of our own for a few years now and have been moving from temporary place to place for longer than i really wanted to stop and realise. recently i read about the symbolism of snails and their shells. the phrase “always at home” echoes through my mind daily. i notice my drawings and photographs often reference a home of some sort. when i am lonely, restless, sad or tired i yearn to go to the home we do not have… but when i am moving or absorbed in the present, i suppose i am at home wherever i am.
