I think there really is something to be said that you even have the privilege of having an audience to ask for donations in the first place, along with being white in USAmerica, while BiPOC queer people, especially BiPOC Transfems have none of that. And although you're the only white person in your group, you should probably be centering the BiPOC people, both in and out of the group, not yourself, and if anything help them leave before you do. You are safe, they are not. Please learn from this and don't take it as just an insult.

anon, consider for a moment why a non-white person might not want to be the center of attention in a famous white persons's fundraising post on a platform theyre not on, that is also famously not normal about non white people.

tell me why a black transfem, if she had the option to use me (a white, reasonably well respected transfem) as an optics shield to raise money to survive, would go out of her way to choose to be the one asking for help directly in this current social climate. why would she do that to herself when all she wants is to live without being a spectacle? because it would feel more "correct" to see her do it herself?

i understand the significant importance in centering bipoc voices, but the fact of the matter is the people im working to evacuate straight up dont want to be scrutinized by the same audience members that scrutinize me.

people who are hyper vigilant towards any perceived flaws in the behavior of others online, ESPECIALLY trans women, and then feel the compulsion to tone police them and tell them theyre doing something wrong as soon as possible, thinking it will make us all safer by pruning off what you see as abberant behaviors, not thinking about why those behaviors might emerge in the first place.
