“Ms. Miyuki… I wonder if I should apologize for my harsh words I aimed at her sister, Okada, but I have a feeling she feels a similar sense of disgust for her. Perhaps, not as blood thirsty though…”

“It’s good that she turned her attention away from the researchers with the Party of Words. Tensions are rising behind the scenes. It would be unfortunate if Ms. Miyuki were to get too involved. She has so much at stake, such as her adorable little daughter. Sometimes, I miss when the Kamiyama boys were little, especially Daiki. He was so adorable when he didn’t talk back and complain all the time, fufufu…”

Lola Takahashi

“Ms. Takahashi is an intriguing woman… I do wonder, what sort of knowledge does she have on everyone? I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s all too familiar with our team’s pathetic leader… Ah, but you didn’t hear that from me. Still, the name Aphrodite suits her well. I’m certain many see her as a goddess, if her modelling career is anything to go by.”

“Miss. Koizumi! I see her often. The cafe she works at is near the office I go to when I just have to visit Toshiaki. The drinks at that cafe do wonders for me after those dreadful plane trips from Hokkaido to Tokyo… So I’m somewhat acquainted with her. She’s shy, quiet, and straight to the point. A charming young lady, though, I wonder what it means, when these files say she is an ‘artist’... Perhaps the next time I’m forced to meet with Toshiaki, I can strike up a proper conversation. It would be nice to have a friendly conversation with a fellow contestant, no?”

“My, is there something more to this little team? I wonder, what could these women be seeking? I wish I could dedicate more time into prying, but I do have to keep focus on my own mission. Still, I wish these women luck in their endeavors.”

“Anyways! Only thing Sayaka has going for her is her nice look! Maybe for once, I can have someone smarter to help with my mission to bring justice to our world! I might need it too, if everyone is going to give off evil witch vibes… So, let’s meet Sayaka and join forces!”

“Woah, a pretty model? I mean, that’s pretty much all I can get out of this picture of her… Hopefully she’s as nice as she looks!”

“Hey, we’re matching! Blue and blue… Though, she’s got this cool dark hair with light blue streaks. Is it natural? I have to dye my hair to get it how I like. It took awhile for me to learn how to do it on my own. I used to buy these cheap boxes and make a mess in my dorm bathrooms. Now I can get the good stuff and do it in my own apartment! It’s so cool being all grown up!”

“Ah, but Kureha! Is! Uh… Cool? I dunno, it says she’s an artist, but what kind? Does she draw comics?! I wanna know!”

“What does ‘Femme Fatale’ mean? Yeah, tell me! I need to know so I can make a conclusion if they’re on the side of justice or darkness!”

“...Whaaat? They use their girly looks to trick people into getting what they want? That doesn’t sound like a very heroic thing to do… I want to trust them though! Their leader Sayaka looks so nice, I can’t imagine her being so mean! Maybe she just needs help with her goal? As long as we don’t have to fight, we can team up Femme Fatale! “Wait… Fujisaki? I thought she was gone after her group fell apart… Way to show everything I did wrong when I tried to disappear. Changing a name does a lot, huh…”

“I-Ignore me. So, she’s a model now? That was the last thing I expected, but I guess she has the looks for it. I-I’ll try not to mention her past. But it might be a little hard… She was the talk of Japan years ago when she was in the mafia. She used to be someone Haruto would talk about. M-Mostly about her body, admittedly, but he looked up to her in his own way. I remember talking about her disappearance when we got our tattoos… Wonder what happened in that time?”

Kureha Koizumi

“She looks familiar… But not familiar enough. I can’t say I know her well enough to comment on her much.”

Femme Fatale

“I guess they are pretty in their own ways, so the name ‘Femme Fatale’ makes perfect sense. I don’t want to put labels on them though… I’ve heard Na- I mean, Lola is a little short tempered when anyone mocks her comrades. And the last thing I need is to piss off more law-related people… Augh… This is hell…!”

Jack’s Thoughts on Fukuoka Division

Eko Seishin

“This gentleman is an enigma, isn’t he? It’s hard to place what exactly his origins are. Is he but a simple man who’s cultivated a fan following through his talent as an idol? Or is he a spectre, long forgotten by his creators? It’s hard to place, not that it matters to me or my work. As far as I can gather, he is just an obstacle in our little competition. Another face in the crowd of opponents we must face to reach the top.”

“Though, some aspects of his many personal documents hint at the fact he may be related to my own mission, if not a distant relative. I really hope it's false though… It is enough having to contain the others.”

Mai Yousei

“So this is the name responsible for the young master’s teetering out the interview room like a drunken fool. It is nice to see him so passionate for more creative, physical activities. Sadly, I can’t seem to get him to consider taking his old dance lessons again. The Kamiyama family, especially the late lady of the manor, used to take dance rather seriously. She so dearly wanted all her children to shine at the parties… Of course, the young master was so young when she passed, he never experienced the pressure the other boys had been placed under, so he’s been able to skirt his responsibilities for quite some time. If only she were around… If only Akari didn’t compromise the operation.”

“On another note, Mai Yousei is another rather suspicious individual when putting his unusual abilities into thought. Could this be another supernatural team? And I thought the Setagaya children were a stain on our reputation.”

Yuno Kamora

“It is funny, how much this man assumes about me and my personal activities. The book was certainly a surprise for our team. It’s just… The poor master took what Mr. Kamora said very personally. Even if what Mr. Kamora had written mostly accurately, it was uncalled for to bring so many innocent people into the fray. I can only hope he may reflect on his actions and make it up to people by apologizing for defaming them… Unless he thinks what he’s done is justified. If that’s the case, I may have to agree with the young master on the sentiment to ‘correct’ that behavior.”

“Still, it’s hard to say I’m on any side to this strange drama that Yuno wants to take. Chuohku is not my ally by any means. Nor are they a particular threat to the people I work with behind the scenes. If I were to explain my motivations, it’s to simply correct and collect what we have misplaced. And if Yuno’s friends fit into that category, well… It’s nothing personal, my fellow servitor.”

“A dancer? Like a pro?! That actually sounds cool! I mean, as long as it’s like the dances they do in the sentai shows! Like, in the opening credits for Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger? That one is super hard, I’ve been trying to nail the steps but I just can get the twists right. Like, I’m gonna break a bloody ankle trying to do it one of these days.”

“No, but Mai looks like he teaches street dancing and not the stuck up, stuffy ballroom dance I used to get forced into. Up until I started ditching at least. I know Jack wants me to get started again ‘eventually’. But there’s no way I will let him force me into that pompous bull ever again!” 

Yuno Kamora

“Oh… This is the guy that’s ruining the Paladin’s reputation… Why did he have to write about me? And say, what was all the stuff he said about Hisoka and my butler?! Aren’t they innocent in all this? No, we’re all innocent! We shouldn’t be put together with the criminals… Most of the people there aren’t even evil! The Edogawa division are heroes, not villains! It seriously hurts that he wrote that, but no way am I going to stand around and let him bully my friends and me! Prepare yourself, you evil butler! In fact, you don’t deserve that title at all!”

“Mai Yousei, a professional dancer? Couldn’t be me… I’m pretty sure I got two left feet because I’m just awful at dancing. I remember Haruto used to laugh and shout at me about it all the time…”

“God, this guy again? Ugh, I still can’t believe that shit he pulled. On my birthday too. I-It’s not just about me, don’t get me wrong. It’s just… Asking for me to pass along a message of forgiveness for just one of my teammates when my entire team was disrespected? It’s just… Fucked up. I figured if someone was able to put together a novel like that, he would be able to reflect on his own words and actions. That he would get the sort of consequences bringing up people’s dirt would bring. Yeah… He just left a bad taste with everything he’s done.”

And it’s a very long list of achievements from what I recall. Although, his period of inactivity is of interest. What could have happened for him to isolate himself from the spotlight? And at the peak of his career, no less? Only he must know… Him and that manager of his.”

Bunko Ozaki

“The Kamiyama family works with the lady of the Ozaki family quite often! Mostly for events and parties, but we appreciate her arrangements all the same. It was quite the scandal when their son had acted out. A stain on their reputation amongst the upper class… I only hope that he has his act together by now. I would hate to witness firsthand what his temper could mean for us in a rap battle. Or perhaps, it might work to this team’s advantage? Now that, would be interesting, no doubt.”

Iwao Yoshioka

“...I really didn’t expect to see hi- I mean, it. It here. My apologies, I don’t want to get into my personal relationship with it. Somewhat ironic though. It adopted it’s own number as a stage name. I suppose it’s hard not to with that tattoo- Oops, I said too much. I’ll rest my point there.”

“An actor, a professional shogi player and… It. Well, looks like I may have my hands full with them. At least I don’t have to rope Toshiaki’s pupil into the drama any longer. I have faith that once Mr. Tetsumasu is able to pull himself together, we can swiftly take care of them. Easy peasy, lemon-squeezy, correct?”

“Eww! This guy? He’s weird! Well, my brothers say so, at least. They’ve met him and everyone says he’s done a lot of things. Enough for even father to ban him from our hotels. I wish they’d tell me what exactly he’s done, but whenever I bring him up, they have this look on their face. Not sure how to put it to words, but they make this face like they found a dead mouse. Just… A face of ‘ew’. Wonder what sort of things this Nobuo guy does to make them act like that. I guess I can find out soon enough! When we serve up a slice of justice!”

Bunko Ozaki

“Oh, everyone talked about him when I was a kid! His mom is like, super beloved by my dad and a ton of other rich people. So when the news came out that her son punched someone else on TV? That was all everyone talked about at parties! Even the other kids were bringing it up, it kinda got annoying. I mean, I dunno if he’s good or bad? It just sounds like Bunko got angry, which isn’t an evil thing to do. You just gotta learn to control it is all! So, maybe he went away to get better at maintaining his attitude? I mean, he has to have done that, because why else would he disappear for so long! I wonder, did he have a cool mentor? Did he teach him super secrets?! I gotta know! I mean, everyone in the upper class is dying to know!”

Iwao Yoshioka

“So, this guy is the reason why Hisoka looked so…? O-Oh, okay. He just, had this really scary expression on his face, you know? I haven’t seen him like that, so I’m kind of worried. Does that mean Iwao is a bad guy? He doesn’t look bad… I mean, what could he have done to make Hisoka look like that? Or even… Well, shout like he did. Yeah, I think everyone heard it from outside. I’m sorry, Jack said I shouldn’t talk about it, but it’s hard not to when we’re doing these talks. Can we… Move on? I’m not scared, just… Just bored. I don’t have anything else to add anyways.”

“I guess this is our enemy, huh? I don’t think they’re villains… But Hisoka might say otherwise. I-I trust him though! I want to help, since I know Hisoka is struggling with a lot. If beating this team, and Iwao, helps him? I’ll do whatever I can to lend him a hand.”

“T-That face… No way. He… He was there. But, didn’t Haruto bring him in? He was some new guy, so… Since when was he an actor? And why was he in our group if he was some famous hotshot? I-It just doesn’t make sense!”

“Calm down? Y-Yeah, I should breathe a little… I didn’t know him well, it was my brother who met him and brought him under our wing. I never really looked back on that day to see if anyone else made it out, but I guess… I guess he was one of the survivors like me. God, this is my rival for the upcoming competition though. Something about him feels wrong though. Something… N-Nevermind, it’s probably just me. C-Can we hurry this up? Please?”

Bunko Ozaki

“I can’t say I’m familiar with this guy at all… S-Sorry.”

Iwao Yoshioka

“No.”

“Nononononono not him…I can’t face him. I-Is this some sick joke? What is the idea, getting this… This freak in here?! Are you crazy? He’s not human! It’s going to fucking kill everyone, just like before! Do you hear me? He needs to be-!”

YASHA

“...I’m sorry for that. I’m just having a hard time wrapping my head around this. Hah, why the fuck would that Sone ever team together with that thing? Is he fucking delusional? Or maybe this is just my luck.”

“That’s it. That’s why they invited me in, didn’t they? They found that fucking monster and they’re making it finish the job. Haha… AHAHAHAHAHA!”

It took it bit, but I got around to finishing everything in regards to Jack's birthday! Now I can give my focus to my new team, before I get into making Ryuko's birthday illustrations. Honestly, thank you for the gifts and patience everyone has with me. Not that I should be under pressure to complete a "deadline", but it's nice to be in a lax community lolololol

So yeah, Ryuko's birthday is next in May! I'm probably going to extend that birthday for a week too, because my timing for birthdays is to put them ALL in the MIDDLE of the FUCKING week. :^)

It was late into the day in Obihiro when the doorbell rang for one Jack Verrill. Said distinguished gentleman of the hour was currently trying to relax after a long day of making sure Daiki hadn't accidentally killed himself in his foolishness. Curious to see what or who it could be, though he was certain it was more gifts delivered to him from people all over the divisions, and soon enough, two packages were in front of him, and Jack began to open the larger of the two first.

Inside the first gift was a giant elegant dark green and gold cake. Along with the cake, there was a small note.

Happy Birthday! Daiki-kun said it was today, so I made you a cake to celebrate. I hope you enjoy it!

Inside the other box was a high-tech brass knuckle. Seeing that there was also a note, Jack picked it up and began to read.

Happy Birthday. If you ain’t the sussiest motherfucker I’ve ever had the pleasure to lay my eyes on but you watch over Daiki you're so thin ice my good man. Speaking of watching over Daiki, here is a little help with that. It's a fucking taser too. Hehehe.

Cold eyes looked at the note from Kanra Akemi. It was a no-brainer that as soon as Daiki had discovered the butler’s birthday, he spread it like wildfire to all his friends across Japan. So it shouldn’t be a surprise to see one of his friends had reacted by baking a lovely cake in his honor. Even if it was from a thing such as Kanra. Nevertheless, he decided it was better to not dwell on the implications of her existence and turned his attention to the current, much more pressing matter at hand.

“Ms. Shinozaki…” Jack’s face morphs from a look of stress to one of exasperation at the sight of the sci-fi future brass knuckles.

The note got a chuckle out of Jack, but it wasn’t enough to ease his concerns over the hacker and inventor. Her strange questions about Jack’s past and personal information were worrying him. Knowing her specialty is getting sensitive information, Jack can’t help but wonder how long his secrets would stay that way. As much as he can fool people like Shuu Edogawa or even Otome Tohoten, someone like Kaoru Shinozaki could potentially throw everything out the window. At least, it seemed she cared about Daiki at least a little bit. With that, there may be a chance to slither his way around her prying eyes... "Perhaps, I can get away with this just a little longer. Just until I can catch him.”

Out in the city of Obihiro, Jack Verrill, despite keeping a low profile, the latters birthday was unexpected even to him. What better exception to go exploring for a certain criminologist? Sgt./Nishin kept his eyes peeled for anything interesting. The butler was one of his topics of interest, so there wasn’t much trouble in taking a closer look. He tapped a mic attached to his neck, taking a seat on a bench at a nearby park. “Father, you know Verrill as a subordinate around Chuohku, right?” “Yes. I don’t rather pay attention to others who are being watched such as myself, but he is a special case. Something just draws me to him, why is he one of your clients anyway?” “There’s something more to him. After Yuno published that hell of a book exposing all those DRB gangsters? Well, that’s probably the wrong term…” “Maybe a little much, but good luck.” —Later, Kamiyama Mailbox— Inside…Was a yellow spiral pin, reminiscent of his team symbol.

Daiki was confused at the sight of the little pin in his mailbox. For one, it was the only thing in his sad little box - there was no wrapping such as an envelope or box to hold it, nor was there any note attached to it to identify where it had come from. Daiki knew it looked very much like his own butler's pin. Perhaps… Perhaps the pest had accidentally left evidence to the fact he was snooping around his mailbox!

Quickly, Daiki started to march up to his floor before rapping against the door to his butler's abode.

“Hey, Jack! Were you going through my mail?! It's a crime you know!” No response. Frustrated, Daiki started to jiggle the door only to be interrupted by the sound of someone clearing their throat behind him.

Standing only steps away from Daiki, Jack stared him down with a stern look. “Is something the matter, young master?”

“W-Woah! How long were you standing there?!”

“I just returned home, young master.”

“O-Oh… Well, hey! Explain this!” Thrusting the small metallic pin towards Jack, Daiki began to wave it in his face. “You were snooping around my stuff again, weren't you?! Doing my laundry is one thing, but my mail is a step too far!”

“I haven't gone through your letterbox today?”

“So you admit it!”

“Now, now, could you stop waving that thing in my face and allow me to look at it?”

That halts the young heir's nagging, allowing Jack to take the pin off Daiki to take a closer look. “I'm afraid this isn't mine…”

“Liar.”

“This is not my pin. The emblem is off.”

“Huh? Lemme see!” Snatching it back from the butler, Daiki squints the pin. His face squashing in focus before it stretches into a look of surprise. “It's completely wrong!”

The butler hums in a mix of acknowledgement and pondering. “Perhaps it's a gift? A fan got their birthday present mixed up?”

“Whaaat? Something as lame as this thing?”

“There's no need to be rude.”

“Whatever! It's yours now. Keep it!”

Tossing it at the butler, Jack catches it with ease. Watching Daiki stomp back into his apartment with another grumble about staying out of his business, Jack is left standing alone with the pin in the palm of his gloved hand.

Curiously, Jack looks it over. Something felt off with the make of the pin. The edges didn’t seem to align quite right. Trusting his gut, Jack removes his gloves to scratch at the little pin, uncapping it to reveal a hidden microphone. The sight of the thing, smaller than his fingernail, was amusing to the butler as he easily crushed it between his forefingers. Then, without another word, he reassembled the pin and walked into his apartment with a little chuckle. "What a strange gift..."

For such a grim facility, the employees seem to get special birthday privileges. Odd, considering how the children aren’t allowed their own birthdays, but I can’t really complain. That’s just the way things are, at least that’s what I keep telling myself. “It is what it is.”

At least Sascha is sympathetic to my frustrations. It feels like I’m going mad working here. Like I’m at the same level as the children. Meat for the grinder. Hopefully this really is for the better of the world. Hopefully, the things Sascha is gossiping about to me is just make-believe. Hopefully, I’m not a monster in the children's eyes.

I was surprised the kids decided to put something together for me. A birthday card they made and had Thomas ██ (I still need to get used to using their assigned numbers) deliver it to me before I left for the weekend. They probably forced him to deliver it, but it makes sense. He is the sturdiest boy in Schutzengel, so whatever punishment comes for the children can be lessened by ██. If he gets caught, hopefully, he will just get thrown to “time-out”. It’s painful to see ██ or any of the children get hurt. For my sake at that.
