It just occurred to me after Lion 2: the Movie that Steven probably tried to tell the Gems all about the cool stuff Lion could do, and that he could teleport and that he had a pink sword in his head and he took them to a secret gem place and - and -

“That’s nice, Steven,” said Pearl, tutting. “Of course he did.”

“No way, dude,” Amethyst snorted.

“Mmm... doubtful,” said Garnet.

And Steven looked back and forth between them, feeling smaller than ever, until his face shifted slowly into a small, nervous smile. “Uh - I was just joking around,” he said hastily, and he didn’t mention it again until Pearl took him to the armory 😐

the philippines is trending right now and i hope y’all know it’s because our senate passed an “anti terrorism” bill, which basically targets the critics and opposition leaders of the current government. it may impede our freedom of speech and they could basically “allow the police and military to conduct a 60-day surveillance on suspected terrorists and compelling telecommunication companies to disclose their calls and messages”.

on top of this, the philippines doesn’t have mass testing available yet and the enhanced community quarantine has technically ended today, which means thousands of workers are now forced to go to work (even without a proper public transportation system). my mother has just gone to work at the airport and i’m terrified for her safety and health. the coronavirus cases have been increasing constantly and we’re still in the first wave.

update: this is what manila looks like after lifting the enhanced community quarantine

translation: we need your help. our families are starving. we are jeepney drivers and we don’t receive any aid from the social amelioration subsidy (or financial aid from the government)

the last thing we need is our government prioritizing a bill that could threaten normal citizens who are complaining about their incompetence, especially in the middle of a pandemic. i know so many things are happening in your own countries, but please keep us in your minds and prayers. 💗 please also check out this info sheet as to how you can help! ⬇️

Japan Elects Its First Openly-Gay Lawmaker

LGBT rights activist Taiga Ishikawa recently won a seat in Japan’s national parliament, becoming the country’s first openly-gay lawmaker.

Upon his election, Ishikawa vowed to push bills for marriage equality and protecting LGBT people from discrimination during his tenure as a lawmaker.

idk what shit-eating truscum needs to hear this, but your rhetoric directly harms people with culturally-specific genders. i’m native and two-spirit, that label describes my gender and my attraction. i use they/them pronouns and your “nonbinaries and cringey stargender trenders aren’t valid” bullshit is getting old. our languages were demonized and erased, our gender and attraction labels along with them. my experiences with dysphoria exist because of colonialist ideas of gender. we have been forced into arbitrary ‘male’ and ‘female’ categories by colonizers for centuries and truscum rhetoric perpetuates racist colonialist violence against natives.

your experiences are not universal, you’re not forwarding justice for trans people, and you’re definitely not an ally to natives or other people of color. you’re just a fucking colonizer.
