*Eden getting off just looks… confused more than anything, and Sami’s already starting to tear up.*

*Grif sighs.*

Okay... but if you change your mind, I'm here...

*He turns to Eden and just takes her hand and gives it a gentle squeeze. He doesn't know what else he can do to comfort either of them, and so he just sits quietly and watches the other people on the boat.*

the boat ride seems to end quicker this time, the boat hits the docks and the ferryman ties it off before letting the people off.

*Grif looks back the way Toga and Mikey went for a few moments, before shaking his head and following Eden and Sami back onto the boat. He stops next to the captain and quietly asks.*

D'you know much about those two boys, uh, Toga and Mikey?

"huh- oh the boys? uh they like fishing in the area since their dad works on the mainland and mom handles the cargo and the shipping yard. not much other than that."

Sami, let them go. If we chase after them, we're just gonna scare them. Me and Eden'll find out where they live and talk to whoever their parents are later.

*He looks back up at Eden, his expression pained and confused.*

toga pulls mikey in front of him as they quickly walk off. it doesnt stop mikey from looking back at them confused before turning a corner.

*he quickly grabs the camera from Eden, and finds a picture of Max*

*… like looking into a mirror.*

mikey just stands there, staring at it before toga grabs his arm and starts leading him away.

… hey! I know you! You’re the… the kid in Aunt Eden’s photos!!!

*Grif nods at the two and lets Sami take over talking to them, stepping back to stand next to Eden. He curls a wing around her, trying to be comforting, and murmurs.*

Y'know a lot of people have memory loss when they get here, he might not remember much from before... maybe we could find out if they have a guardian or someone who we could to talk to about this...

toga ends up overhearing and he kinda gets a bad feeling.

*Sami walks up to the two boys, seeming very curious.*

*Grif's clearly nervous about getting off the boat, but he doesn't want to lose sight of Mikey and Toga. He turns to Sami.*

Hey, you stay close, yeah? Don't go running off.

*Then he steps onto the dock and over to the two boys. He doesn't really know what to do about the situation, but he hopes maybe just talking to them will help Eden figure out if they are who she thinks they are.*

Hey, boys, d'you need any help with carrying that stuff?
