what a lot of people don't understand, and what leads to them falling for conspiracy(-like) pizzagate style narratives even if they think they're above that due to not being lowly right wing qanoners, is that buying underage kids for sex is not difficult or expensive. at all. i say this brutally because it is brutal.

right now the only example that comes to mind is the last of us but i do feel like it's an interesting trope that stories centered around father+daughter dynamics relatively often make the daughter a lesbian. and while that rules i can't help but always be aware that in trying to do away with the incestuous undertones baked into the patriarchal father-daughter relationship (wherein the father owns and controls the daughter's sexual agency until she is to be transferred to another worthy man, and in the meantime all other men must be scared away off the father's property under threat of violence, ie. shotgun on the porch, bring her home by 10, et cetera et cetera) they end up becoming an inversion of it thus continuing to refer to it indirectly: if the daughter is "only" ever romantically involved with other women, then there never has to be another man to take up the father's place in the daughter's emotional landscape, and we never have to face or directly address why this in and off itself would be a threat to the father. reminds me of how when people used to ask my dad if any of his three daughters had a boyfriend, he would laugh it off and quote an iconic song by vicente fernandez: "i am still king"
