if she had to pick carol would definitely say that kids were her favorite kind of humans. and yes, part of it had more or less to do with the fact that she herself related a lot more to kids than she did adults. then again maybe it had more to do with the fact that she wasn’t around them nearly as much as adults. honestly before gerry she hadn’t been around many kids so she feared the kid wouldn’t like her or that she wouldn’t know how to even interact with him properly. but the second she layed her eyes on that face of his her maternal instincts had definitely kicked themselves into gear. she loved the kid, as much as she loved jess. how could she not when he was basically another part of her? “you know, i gotta say jess. that kid might possibly be your greatest work yet.” the blonde remarked proudly as she took the glass of wine from jessica. it was still odd sometimes that jess was an actual parent. it wasn’t so long ago that both of them were still galavanting around town still acting like young adults without a care in the world and here she was now responsible for a life. “that’s not to cheapen the rest of your achievements or anything. come on, you know you’re one badass hero. the best of the avengers if you ask me. but come on. the little one barely mutter a full sentence yet and he’s got hundreds of people who would literally lay their lives on the line for him. me especially.” carol said with a smirk. “ so sorry but all of those horrible scenarios aren’t happening cause anyone who tried to hurt you guys would have to go through me first. and between us i think i can take on a xenomorph queen. “ she winked before taking a sip from the cup. “ cheers. to us getting a much needed break. we deserve this.“

jess can’t tell if it’s her decreased tolerance for alcohol since having gerry or just her genuine softness around the blonde, but all carol has to do is speak to get the brunette blushing. “hey, i’ll take that. best avenger and best mom. where’s the mug for that?” she teases, easing herself into the plush cushions of the couch. she couldn’t imagine doing any of this without carol by her side. while there were deeply hidden maternal instincts that seemed to find their way to jess’s surface, there are still times in which she falters and feels as though she isn’t enough for gerry, that he’d be missing out on so much due to jess’s inexperience when it comes to taking care of something other than herself. hell, she’s never kept anything alive long enough to mark it down as an accomplishment. her early twenties consisted of many a dead plant that rested on her kitchen’s windowsill, dry and forgotten. but day after day, when the little rascal wraps a pudgy hand around her finger, jess just knows that though she may not be the best mom in the world, she was the best for him. though, having someone as supportive and - quite literally - out of this world as carol by her side, was definitely a nice reassurance. “luckily for you, captain sparklefists,” she starts before swishing around her wine in the glass, watching as the dark red liquid swirled. “i don’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon. though i’d love to see you kick alien’s ass. it wouldn’t know what hit it.” her lesser lip is taken between her teeth momentarily before she’s sipping her glass once more. “yeah, i feel like alone time is rare. let’s try to make the most of it before he hits the terrible twos.”

jess remembers it like yesterday - thirty six weeks pregnant and in an intergalactic maternity ward taken over by skrull. she’d been there on carol’s recommendation, and while the technology was up to par to the captain’s description, it wasn’t exactly how she’d imagined bringing her son into the world. but now, a little over a year later, gerry is a happy and healthy child with an affinity for toy car keys and drenching his mother in drool. but there isn’t a single thing on this earth and any other planet that she wouldn’t do for him - and even though she still says, to this day, that she never wanted to be a mother, jess’ll pat herself on the back for that. dark hues watch in the dimly lit room as he drifts off into sleep, the sight of him cuddling up against one of the plush spock toys that carol got him truly warming the spider’s heart. it takes her a few lingering seconds to peel herself away from the crack in the door she’d left to monitor him, but once she does, she’s headed toward the kitchen to pour her and carol each a heaping glass of wine. jess hasn’t even sat before she’s knocking back a sip, a groan of satisfaction leaving her. “i’d die for that kid. really, a horrible death on par with alien or jaws, or whatever the fuck — but god am i glad i can put him to bed at 8 and have him be none the wiser.” jess knows this won’t last forever. eventually he’ll grow up and drive her crazy until he tires out, but for now, she’ll revel in what she can get. “oh, i almost forgot - cheers, care,” she knocks her glass gently against carol’s before taking another sip. @itscaptaindanvers

hi cuties :) gia, back at it again w yet another babe. i love jess a lot, and have never gotten the chance to play her so i’m v excited to finally try my hand at this babe! from what i know about jess, marvel Continues to do her dirty time and time again but i mean, what else is new? anyways, i’m gonna try to give y’all the low on miss jess. 

jess’s parents were jonathan and miriam drew, who were two scientists whose life work was dedicated to harnessing the environmental adaptive abilities of spiders by grafting their dna into the human genome. before jess was born, her parents moved to wundagore mountain to continue their research with funding from HYDRA. while working on these experiments, jessica’s mother was hit by a laser beam containing this DNA and subsequent physical traits of several species of spiders - and unborn jessica, took on these traits, giving her a variety of spider powers

when she was young, her parents disappeared under mysterious circumstances, leaving her to be raised on mount wundagore by a woman named bova. jessica was later recruited by HYDRA under the false pretense that HYDRA was a force for good in the world. she was trained by taskmaster in martial arts and effective use of her powers to become a deadly assassin

HYDRA  trained her rigorously (and abusively).  through brainwash and manipulation, she was convinced she wasn’t human, but actually an evolved spider. during this time she went by the alias of Arachne. HYDRA also lead her to believe that her parents were horrible people, and that one of their male agents was in love with her - he was her “first” boyfriend. as a HYDRA agent, jess battled nick fury and SHIELD until jess learned HYDRA’s true nature.

jess’s first mission as a HYDRA agent was to kill nick fury, but under SHIELD’s control, jess learned HYDRA’s true nature and escaped 

though not without some convincing tbh. she didn’t want to believe was SHIELD and nick were telling her because these implanted memories given to her by HYDRA. she didn’t want to believe that they were terrorists, that her father used her as a lab rat and her parents were potentially dead bc of this organization 

but eventually, she came around and joined the avengers. 

i’m not gonna ramble too much but a lil later jess decides to take a break from superhero-ing because she *drum roll plz* gets Pregnant. it’s never established who the father is so that’s not important HOWEVER .... miss jess is so cute w a lil baby bump .... 

jess never wanted to be a mom but this kinda just fell in her lap. so she goes thru w the pregnancy and to give you an idea how badass miss jess is, she went to a hospital that carol recommended... in space..... and it was invaded by skrulls and she literally beat up an entire room of them RIGHT AFTER giving birth to her son, gerry, then collapsed and went into recovery. i love that for her 

jess is just a potty mouthed, motorcycle driving, ice cream eating, star trek loving nerd. 

her friend roger gocking aka porcupine is 1. one of her besties and 2. watches gerry for her while she does superhero stuff and day drinks with carol 

JESSICA’S ABILITIES INCLUDE: superhuman strength, speed, stamina, durability, agility, reflexes, flexibility and hearing. contaminant immunity.

 she's a skilled spy and is extensively trained in espionage, covert operations and stealth. 

she's multilingual and can speak russian, japanese, french, spanish, portuguese, korean and german. she's also a skilled investigator, having worked as a private detective in the past.

 jess possesses a dimensional travel watch that allows her to alternate universes. 

her birthday is december 7th so she's a sagittarius, which is makes a shit ton of sense now that i think about it
