Masquerade NYC! Spoilers under the cut…
Random tired end of night thoughts, there is audio to come eventually!
Jeremy!Firmin handed my husband a note! (He unironically loves the Managers, so he was pumped 🤣) I got to spritz Satomi!Carlotta with throat spray, and the Phantom switched out the bottle in my hands. Christine handed me her Aminta costume for Twisted Every Way and I nodded at her when she took it back. Jeff Kready was fantastic, Anna Zavelson was gorgeous all around. I liked Paul better here than in the traditional show, pleasant surprise! He really struggled against the ropes in the final lair. Betsy!Giry was very engaging. The Buquet murder was really cool, super physical and scary. Honestly the most immersive part was the chaos post-chandelier crash, with all of us rushing out into the next area. One of my favorite transitions was between the unmasking and circus, Erik seeing his younger self and wishing Christine could know everything that made him the way he is. Hooded young!Erik reminded me of The Trap-Door maker graphic novels. (Umm there was no bread, did y’all make that up??) My Erik/Mannequin heart was so happy with automaton E/C 🥰 The mirror scene was really cool, I gasped when he disappeared/reappeared. Also the switch between Raoul/the Phantom after Think of Me. Don Juan catching fire was a cool replacement for the fireballs in the graveyard. I love practical effects. I thought they handled the costume change during Say You’ll Share very well, it flowed and wasn’t disruptive. I could see the tiny ring on Jeff’s finger at the start of PONR, it didn’t even go to his first knuckle. The show/experience was so impressive all around, all the staff and cast did an amazing job getting everyone where they needed to be. This show really is for all the E/C girlies (gender neutral). I’m sure I missed things here and there during the show because there was SO MUCH going on. So grateful I got to experience it. 🎭❤️
#wow I didn't know they really got interactive with the audience#that sounds so awesome 🤩#glad to hear you had a phantastic time!#poto#phantom of the opera#masquerade nyc#immersive poto#masquerade spoilers

Here's my Wishbone as Raoul plushie! Isn't he dapper?
Wishbone was one of my favorite shows as a little girl, and of course there was an episode about The Phantom of the Opera. It's so cute!
youtube

I've had my Romeo Wishbone since I was about 9 or 10. They like to hang out!

Wishbone had some classic adaptations published as books, but unfortunately Phantom wasn't one of them. The closest we got was Phantom of the Video Store, which just had Phantom elements. This is a pretty beat-up copy (thanks, ThriftBooks, for listing it as Good condition!)

Hoatzin (Opisthocomus hoazin) aka “Stink Turkey”, mother with chick, family Opisthocomidae, order Opisthocomiformes, found in South America
The only living member of the bird order Opisthocomiformes.
This leaf-eating bird uses foregut fermentation, in its enlarged crop, to help break down its food. (The ferementation is where the smell comes from, which gives it the name “Pavo Apestoso”)
They live in vegetation at the edges of lakes, streams, and rivers.
The young have 2 small claws on the fronts of the wingsthat help them climb through vegetation.
photograph by Steve Sanchez
#this bird looked so freaky when I was just glancing at the thumbnail 😂#glad to know it's not a monstrosity after clicking on it#like it looks as though it has a giant head and one bird's head is its eye and the other one is the beak#hoatzin#birds

Note
did teri polo really sing all that cuz woah
Nope.
Teri Polo, Charles Dance and Andrea Ferreol were dubbed by real Opera singers for their respective singings parts. (Sorry to break if for you T.T)
Here they are.
Also (ik you didn't ask, But I'm gonna add it nonetheless), in an interview, Mr. Dance said that mimiking the singing was actually harder than acting with the mask.
As shown here:

(Image not by me, tho idk who to credit sorry)
