Hi friends, allow me to drop some theorizing/angst on you.

Ok, so Deceit and Virgil clearly have a background together and i dare even say they know each other extremely well. Ex; Deceit didn't even need to say vaguely what he meant in the courtroom episode, Virgil knew in less than a second what he was getting at ("don't"). I'm not sure when things as anxiety/deceitfulnes start to develop, but i think it's safe to say Deceit and Virgil go back at least 15-20 years. I don't think we always realize that Virgil was part of the Dark Sides for (at least) 15 years, but he knows Deceit (and Remus). He knows the secret messages in his words, the meaning in his facial expressions, the way he moves and the way he talks with his hands. He knows by heart the eyebrow-raises, the irritated thining of his lips, the challenging glint in his eyes- Virgil knows.

Therefore, i'm pretty confident in saying that Virgil 100% knows this is not Patton, but Deceit. Knowing this, the interaction above gets a very different meaning:

'Patton' asks Virgil if they're friends. However, Virgil anwsers Deceit.

For over 15 years (sorry the number is probably very inaccurate but it stuck with me lol) Virgil and Deceit were part of this group, this family. For over 15 years they shared their lives, their feelings, their fears, their hopes and their dreams. Now Virgil has found some additional friends and they make him happy and Deceit knows that. So Deceit knows these people make Virgil happy and he still chooses to 'attack' them and that is what Virgil doesn't understand. Why would someone who has known and cared for him for over 15 years intentionally want to take his hapiness away?

This is what makes Virgil tell Deceit he isn't so sure they're friends anymore.

Welcome to Spellbucks Cafe!

Inspired by this post.

The cafe offers regular food and magical food, but its fame comes from the enchanted beverages. An important meeting today? Some confidence will help. Feeling down? Have a cup of happiness. Patton guarantees the effects.

Speaking of Patton, he’s the owner and barista of Spellbucks Cafe. He’s a wizard (a pretty good one if you ask him) and his specialty is potion-making.

Logan goes to Spellbucks for caffeine. Patton’s goal is to have him try one of the magical drinks sometimes.

Another regular customer of Spellbucks is Virgil. Virgil is Patton’s sweet emo child (“Patton, I’m 20, you’re only five years older.” “Hush, child, and eat your muffin.”). He is a college student and he always orders similar things (the anxiety-reducing ones). He stays at the cafe to study after class; Spellbucks is a safe place for him and he really likes Patton.

Someone who recently discovered the cafe is Roman - and he fell in love. Not with the cupcakes, not with the frappuccinos; with Virgil. (“Do you need any magical drink?” “I’m not lacking anything. *sees Virgil* Okay, I lack a boyfriend.”).
