the only fault he found with Rabbit Hole was that it was a popular hang out for teens and young adults. draco didnât consider himself old but he very much felt like the stereotypical old man chasing kids off his lawn whenever he encountered them. the burgers were still worth it. âthe chances of that are very unlikely,â he mused from the bar stool, glancing back at the women that had just entered.
all she had needed was a quiet day, still nursing a hangover and having to deal with a group of asshole teenagers wasnât going to help. if she had been a more effective adult, one who could manage to go grocery shopping more than once a month, she could have stay in her apartment, but, alas, she wasnât that lucky. âyouâd think their parents would want them home and not, you know, wandering around the town and generally being dicks.âÂ

âwatch your mouth maggie,â harris chided her gently, in his best stern but fair principal voice, purposely wronging her ânameâ. of course, he couldnât really give less of a crap either way. not to mention a majority of these kids were underage. âthere are impressionable kids around.âÂ
âdonât tell me what to do,â she quips, immediately rolling her eyes at the nickname. it had always been one she hated, but she doesnât see the point in correcting him. âyeah, theyâre real fucking impressionable. forgot teenagers have never heard swears before.âÂ

harley offers a smug smile, still holding pegasus close and watching him pace in spot attempting to gather the girls attention. â iâm not complaining, he just wants your attention. â and with that he scratches between the mutts ears. â howâve you been mags? â
she reaches out for pegasus, giving him attention in the hopes that he may calm down a bit. mags dodges his gaze, pausing for a moment before she speaks. âiâve been great-â what a lie, â- busy with work and, you know, life. iâm guessing you and peggy have been good?âÂ

luca hadnât eaten in a few days. which when he was only sustaining himself on filthy animals, meant he was getting hungry again. and as always when he was hungry he was grouchy. however he hadnât the time to go hunting now, he was on his way to work for shadowman. he did however have time to stop by the local gas station to pick up a slushie. as he was sipping down the red ice, his mind was elsewhere, which was probably the reason for the collision that just happened. âfor fuckâs sake can you watch where youâre going?!â he shouted as the cup had crashed to the ground, exploding its content across the pavement.
"fuck!â her half-assed effort to jump back from the falling drink left her right leg covered in its sugary contents. the black pants wouldnât stain, but she would be forced to spend the rest of the day uncomfortably sticky and a bit more annoyed than usual. "me?â she harshly questions the person in front of her. âwhy donât you watch where the fuck youâre going? if youâre gonna drink the sugariest fucking thing on the planet, maybe make sure you donât drop it on anyone.âÂ

"fucking, children...â magdala mutters as she pushes through a group of high schoolers to enter the Rabbit Hole. She canât remember the last time she had a meal that consisted of something other than alcohol and beer nuts. âseriously, find somewhere better to loiter.âÂ

âYeah I get that. Completely.â Robin said. It was much easier to stay here. People to protect, people to saveâŚthe idea of staying in Charming wasnât the best but there were things that needed to be done and it was easier to do them there than leave. âItâs just nice to dream about eh? Something I guess we have in common.â Robin said and chuckled. âAnyways, I havenât seen you in a bit Mags. I think the last time it was when I was with Harley.â he said. âhow are you?â
"I guess,â she shrugged, motioning to the bartender to refill her drink. Dreams, aspirations, hopes - all of those childish positive feelings had left Mags long ago. She was a cynical shell of what she once was, finding it difficult to see a silver-lining or bright side to her current situation. âYeah, Iâve been busy with work, so havenât really been around much...â that was a lie, she had been avoiding anything and everything related to Harley for a little while. âIâve been fine, you?âÂ

â shit â sorry! â harley reels in the on his dog, holding pegasus closer to him than before just keeping him down from standing on the others legs and practically begging for attention. â heâs a little too friendly. â
normally, she isnât a fan of animals - the only animal she had ever considered a pet was an outdoor cat that only came around when he was hungry. the urge to lash out subsides as she sees harley - âhe is, he might of learned that from his parent.âÂ

âOh goodness, look at the sunflowers! Theyâre absolutely stunning!â A sound of glee escaped Alicia as she hurried in the direction of the meadow, her shoes immediately kicked off in favor of running barefoot instead. âOh, just look at them! Have you ever seen so many sunflowers all in one place?â It was not a strange sight for the young woman to be amongst flowers. She was naturally someone who loved nature, but she also just loved anything that was relatively beautiful. (But, then again, regardless of what it was, Alicia thought everything and everyone was beautiful.)
Turning to face the person behind her, she laughed, throwing her hands in the air as she then yelled out, âJoin me, itâs so beautiful here!â
"Oh dear god,â Magdala muttered, a bit overwhelmed by Aliciaâs positivity and excitement. The excitement was in stark contrast to Magsâ ever presence indifference for the world around her. âI mean, I guess I havenât, but I donât think I ever went looking for them,â she replied with a slight shrug, trying her best to be, at the very least, cordial to Alicia.Â
âYou know, I think Iâm good over here,â she hesitated by the edge of the field, still overwhelmed by the otherâs almost relentless happiness and positivity. âPollen, dirt, nature, all this stuff isnât really my thing.âÂ

âThatâs cute, you think I donât know anything.â Hunter was not stupid. If anything they kept tabs on everyone in Charming. Afterall they didnât have a reason to trust anyone. Hunter was always right anyway. They knew how to get in others heads and control them. Mags was no exception.
âMaybe next time you should actually listen to me and be so stupid. If anything you are lucky I donât want to drink from you today.â That was what Hunter would use Mags mostly for. Other than being their own personal slave. But it was hard for them to feel bad when they had no feelings at all.Â
"There isnât anything for you to know.â Magdala may have been taking things a bit too far, but she wasnât sure she had the heart to actually head Hunterâs instructions nor did she want to completely avoid everyone they hated.Â
As far as she could tell, there wasnât anyone that they actually liked and avoiding everyone in town would require more energy than she was willing to exert. âDid you just call me here to chastise me? Because Iâm pretty sure there are about a million more interesting things I could be doing with my time.âÂ

STARTER FOR / @ofdvmsels
â Well Iâm shocked you arenât running in the other direction, â Adam remarks nodding towards her with not much else to say. He did not know how long it had been since the two of them had run into each other, and given that it was a small town that was an impressive feat itself. â Howâve you been Mags? â
Magdala wants to turn tail and run, she is not in the mood for conversation, especially with Adam. In such a small town, it was inevitable the pair would run into each other. She swings around to look at him, feigning positivity as she forces a smile. âOh, just wonderful,â her words are soaked in sarcasm, âhow about you?âÂ

âNow, is that how you speak to your savior? I own you, remember that.â Hunter was never nice. It was not in their nature. Dead people never wanted manners and did not need to be treated with such care as mortals. Maybe that was why they enjoyed this job. They could be an ass as much as they wanted and nothing would happen to them. Unless someone wanted to be sucked dry.
âYou know Mags, you donât do enough for me. I see you making friends, or talking to people I said I did not like. You just donât listen.â Hunter hissed at the other showing their sharp teeth. âYou think youâre slick, donât you? Last time you made friends, you ended up here.â
âSavior? You think highly of yourself.â If anything, they were a curse - one that Mags wanted to be rid of. She had signed her soul away to help someone who turned out to not be worth her time or attention. She hated everything about her current employer, not that she would ever voice that - she may have hated her life but she didnât want to end up dead.Â
âI donât know what youâre talking about.â Of course she knew, but it was safer to play dumb than admit anything. Mags didnât have the hate in her heart that Hunter did - no matter how much she wanted the world to believe she did, she still cared about the people around her. âYou must be mistaken, Iâd never do anything to upset you.âÂ

Misplaced trust and childish feelings had led her to selling herself to Hunter and losing her free will and agency to do what she wanted when she wanted. At one point in her life, she had dreams and ambitions far larger than the small town, but now she was stuck there. Bound in a contract that left her stuck under the devil Hunterâs thumb.Â
As much as she wanted to blow them off and disappear, she knew better. Magdala knew to come when called - do what she was told when she was told. The siren stood across the room from them, close to the exit, hoping the meeting would be as fast and painless as possible. âYou called. I came. What do you want?âÂ

âYou know.â Robin started out, turning to the person next to him at the bar. âAt this point in my life, at 25, youâd think Iâd have actually gotten out of this town. But I have too many connections here to leave behind.â Robin mused a little. He had considered it a lot, leaving and never coming back. He didnât think it was anything he would actually do but the idea to go explore the world was nice. Especially if it got him away from all the fake people around him. âWhat about you? Have you ever thought about leaving?â
Everyday. Mags constantly imagined what it would be like to leave Charming and her job behind. Each day of her life felt like a waking hell, being ordered around and forced to do the bidding of the person that she hated most in the world. âOnce or twice,â she lies, still not sure why she was even engaging. Mags came to drink, not engage. âItâs just easier to stay here than leave.âÂ
