I love how humans are more interested in indulging our curiosity than anything else

like one time way back in college, I was helping a friend hand out drinks for some orientation event. we had water, a range of sodas, and iced tea. I’m not huge tea drinker (unless it’s sweet), but I tried it anyway and it was *just* sweet enough that I didn’t dislike it, and it was a novel enough flavor to me that I just kept on drinking it, but I wouldn’t say I necessarily *liked* it

so whenever people asked abt drinks I was like, “sure, we’ve got [x] sodas, water, and tea! the tea’s decent”

and every single response to that was a bewildered look and, “decent?”

and I’d just shrug, “yeah, decent”

and almost every time I pitched that line, I sold a tea over any other drink. it was so funny, ppl wanted to know what “decent” meant so bad

as a welsh person i want you all to accept that W is a vowel because honestly it makes pronouncing acronyms so much easier. wlw becomes��‘ooloo’, wjec becomes ‘oojeck’, love yourselves and stop giving us shit when we tell you welsh has 7 vowels. english actually has 15 vowel sounds but because y’all only use 5 letters you have to rely on a spelling system devised by satan

Here’s a fun little reason some people may choose not to seek an official diagnosis: It can be held over your head by cruel individuals with malicious intentions. For example, if I do something that my mother does not like or is uncomfortable with then I will have the threat of her going to court for legal guardianship of me thrown in my face. As an autistic adult who does need some help, but would still like to have control over my own decisions this is a very scary thing. Sometimes a diagnosis can be liberating and other times it can be an ankle weight. Let’s keep in mind that some may not be as privileged to receive a diagnosis, and others may not be in a safe enough environment to receive a diagnosis.
