The front door opening unexpectedly didn’t concern Aaron – it was probably John, he was always nipping in and out of the flat, usually because he’d forgotten something – so he was definitely surprised when he came face to face with a Sugden, yes, but not the one he was currently married to.

“Robert,” Aaron shook his head. “What are you doing here?”

It’s not as if Aaron didn’t know Robert would be back in the village – he’d just gotten out of prison after a six -year stint, and a few additional weeks for violating the terms of his license, so it wasn’t as though he had a world of options at his feet: he had his sister, who lived a few doors down in the tiny village they both called home.

He’d tried to mentally prepare himself for the reality of living in the same place as Robert Sugden again – really, he had. Aaron had thought about it more than he should have, arguably, the thought at the back of his mind as he tried to enjoy his honeymoon with John. Safe, reliable, good to him John – the man he’d chosen to marry.

It was just that Robert had this unique ability to get under Aaron’s skin, and even though Aaron knew he’d made the right choice by marrying John, there was a niggling, newfound anxiety at the thought of seeing Robert every single day again.

Robert turned his head, and Aaron couldn’t help the noise of shock he made. Robert looked – well, he looked like he’d gotten the shit kicked out of him, his face a kaleidoscope of purple and red, bruises bright against his pale skin. His expression was stony – none of the openness he’d had the day of the wedding, the clearly visible emotions gone.

“I thought you might like to see the present my dear brother – your dear husband – gave me,” Robert’s words were dripping in sarcasm, the tone throwing Aaron back ten years in time. He was like the Robert of old, the one Aaron had first fallen for, the conniving, angry, scheming man who had scared him, and intrigued him in equal measure.

said virus has only a 30% mortality rate (according to the episode) and moira only sped up the incubation time of the virus, not the strength

we didnt see his body

the script leak from both oliver and jlh with bobby saying "im being buried alive" was the same day the cast and crew were filming at a graveyard
