so, I'm autistic with a mood disorder and was raised in a family where the adults with autism and mood disorders were only destructive to each other--and I have hated these patterns of my mind that resemble those people so much. reading alone with you in the ether didn't cure me of self-hatred exactly but it was meaningful to see those patterns play out beautifully and transformatively instead of destructively. thank you for publishing it.

I'm so happy that's your takeaway, I really am. this is... a lot of people say beautiful things about this book so I keep adding them to my collection but recently someone said something like "if you relate to this book, then I hope it helps you understand yourself, and if you don't, then I hope this book helps you understand me," which was kind of the whole purpose of publishing it. and just... wow, I can never say it enough, and I can never be as coherent as I'd like to about it, but what an honor and a privilege to be in the ether with you

oh hey so this book is really not a horror novel, and for a lot of related reasons I also didn't feel it was right for subscription boxes because it's quite philosophical/satirical etc etc and I believe is being positioned more like general fiction. anyway, I actually do not know what book box you're talking about, but also, importantly, no haha
