Since I wrote this, I feel obligated to tell you that reading Love In Print is probably not the best idea you’ll ever have, unless you like coffee, romance, and suffering. Mainly suffering. Obviously we are extremely excited to be working on this project, and although we can’t give you a definite release date, we hope you’ll be excited too – whether you’ve been reading Love In Print for a long time or haven’t gotten into the series yet. Everyone on the team loves LIP and we’re dedicated to maintaining the integrity of this trash story in development. All routes are being adapted by me, with gorgeous art by none other than alyonam and amazing music by stache-tastic. (That’s the main theme playing in this video!)

I answered a number of questions about this during chat; I’ll compile a separate post with the answers very soon. In the meantime, if you have any questions, feel free to send them in! Signal boosts appreciated!

{ LOVE IN PRINT } Visual Novel Q&A

Some time ago I announced the upcoming VN adaptation of the series with much excitement. It’s a massive project for the three of us so we don’t have a release date for you, but here is everything you never ever wanted to know about the LIP visual novel!

What is Love In Print??

Originally serialized via Tumblr, Love In Print is original otome fiction by the diabolical hrhmariko and illustrated by the flawless alyonam. It’s been around since January 2014 and chronicles the coffee-fueled life of Tachibana Reiko, who works in the marketing department of a shoujo manga digest called DUCHESS. Caffeine and romance – obviously it’s all you really need. You can read all of Season 1 and part of Season 2 + sub-stories and assorted spin-offs at LIPnet!  

Which routes will be available, and in what order?

First up is Masaru, followed by Yoshi. We have chosen the two most popular guys from the original, based on a reader survey (sshhh please don’t remind Masaru that Yoshi won Mr. Popularity by a small margin, I don’t want to deal with him), along with a previously unreleased character for the third route.

When I asked for your opinions on hosting another otome contest, a bunch of you reacted with much more glee than I had expected! I’m glad everyone had fun last year, so I’m about to host one again!!!

Last time I had help from the amazing spyoflove, kumisoria and otomefanfics with the judging and the prizes.

I know without them I couldn’t have done it, so, this is a recruitment thread for people who want to help out! 

What does being a judge mean?

You can help me judge individual pieces entered in the contest. For this I will provide you with a score sheet and notes what to look for. Last year there were around 20 entries per round.  As a judge, you can’t enter in the contest.

You must also provide a prize to give at the end of it all. This can be anything; a fanfic, a fanedit, itunescard, steamkeys, pretty much anything that can have to do with otome.

If you can’t judge a round, that’s okay. The system is flexible, so its all accounted for. 

Please send me an ask / submit a text post if you want to be a judge, telling me what you can offer.

As a sponsor you don’t owe anything. You will be put on a list of sponsors from which the winners can choose a prize, so your prizes will be given a little different.

Themed rounds

Entries can consist of otome fanfiction/fanart/fanedits, as long as they stick to the theme

Any English otome game can be used for your piece

You may recycle your old work, but it gets less points

If you miss a round, don’t sweat it. You’re still in the contest, you just don’t get any points.

No elemination rounds. The one with the most points in the end will receive a prize.

Of course, if you want more info on something, you can message me then as well!

As for myself I’ll be providing steamkeys to 3 otome games. If there’s a shortage on prizes, I will also offer a fan edit or video.
