Independent Skiadrum RP Blog You might try then, as I did, to find a sky so full of stars it will blind you again. Only no sky can blind you now. Even with all that iridescent magic up there, your eye will no longer trace constellations. You’ll care only about the darkness and you’ll watch it for hours, for days, maybe even for years, trying in vain to believe you’re some kind ofindispensable universe-appointed sentinel, as if just by looking you could actually keep it all at bay. It will get so bad you’ll be afraid to look away, you’ll be afraid to sleep.

Ahh yes, this one.
This one stood out from the group she'd passed. This one was peculiar and unique in her own way. The shadows liked her -- wanted her -- her own existent being drawn to the darkness of this young woman's heart. They gathered around her as strongly as she clung to them and for a moment, Skiadrum could only watch. Ethereal pools of gold idly surveying this woman, and the way she was both afraid but firm, powerful and not. Such beautiful flaws.
"Oh, no, my dear. I must insist that you stay." Her smile grew wider in an unspoken satisfaction. With the slightest twitch of her nose, and a flutter of her eyelashes, she caught the scent that had originally drawn her in this direction. Rogue.
"No harm will come to you in my company, I promise"--well, none from a third party at least. Now, was this girl safe from the harm she could cause, not so much--"Do stay."
Danger.
But, then again, didn’t Minerva seem to thrive in situations when most would be running for their life? She had survived so much, her father’s reign of terror, her servitude to the demons of Tartaros. All of that, and yet she still stood; perhaps not whole, but still with most of her wits.
Still, this being, for she doubted the female’s humanity, put the succubus on edge. ”I was merely passing through, nothing more…" The truth, given albeit warily, was safe. Perhaps it would protect her as well.

It was truly a wonder how, in such a short span of time, so many could gather before her. Should she allow herself, she'd muse about how curious it was that both strong and weak are forever drawn to the shadows, tempted even by the beauty that lies where no one can reach. Now was no time for that, though; now she would only smile, a gentle curve to her lips, with a quick raise of an eyebrow--her only outward acknowledgement of those that stood before her.
"My, my~." A pause. She surveyed the rigid stance of some, the arrogant outward disposition of others. "To what do I owe this pleasure?"

Guileless son, I’ll shape your belief
And you’ll always know that your father’s a thief
And you won’t understand the cause of your grief
But you’ll always follow the voices beneath

Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it.
