Eka pada pranamasana is an intermediate balancing pose. The name comes from the sanskrit language “Eka” means one ,”Pada” means foot, “Pranam” means prayer and “asana “means posture or pose.

The posture is a combination of pranamasana (prayer pose) and vrikshasana (tree pose).

On this day Bhagwan Vishnu and Lakshmi are worshipped.

It is believed that Vishnu falls asleep in Ksheersagar - cosmic ocean of milk - on Shesha nāga, the cosmic serpent. That is why the day is also called Dev-Shayani Ekadashi.

हिंदू धर्म में आषाढ़ महीने में आने वाली दोनों एकादशी तिथियों का विशेष महत्व होता है। आषाढ़ महीने की पहली एकादशी को योगिनी और दूसरी या अंतिम एकादशी को देवशयनी एकादशी कहा जाता है। इस साल देवशयनी एकादशी के दिन कई शुभ संयोग बन रहे हैं।

Nirjala Ekadashi is a Hindu holy day falling on the 11th lunar day (Ekadashi) of the waxing fortnight (Shukla Paksha) of the Hindu month of Jyestha.

This ekadashi derives its name from the water-less (Nir-jala) fast observed on this day. It is considered to be the most sacred of all 24 Ekadashis.

It is also known as Pandava Bhima Ekadashi, or Pandava Nirjala Ekadashi. This name is derived from Bhima, the second and strongest of the five Pandava brothers from Mahabharata. The Brahma Vaivarta Purana narrates the story behind the Nirjala Ekadashi vrat vow. Bhima, an avid lover of food, wanted to observe all ekadashi fasts, but could not control his hunger. He approached Rishi Vyasa for a solution. The sage advised him to observe Nirjala Ekadashi fast. He fasted for that one day and attained the virtue of all 24 ekadashis that way.

According to the Markandeya Purana and the Vishnu Purana, one who completes the vrata of Nirjala Ekadashi is mentioned to gain the favour of God Vishnu, who grants them happiness, prosperity and forgiveness for sins. The observer of this fast gains longevity and moksha.

(Shankaracharya Jayanti) of Adi Shankara This year, the 1234th birth anniversary of the spiritual guru will be celebrated.

At the age of two, he could fluently speak and write Sanskrit. At the age of four, he could recite all the Vedas, and at the age of twelve, he took sanyas and left his home. Even at such a young age, he gathered disciples and started walking throughout the country to re-establish the spiritual sciences.

Adi Shankara was an Indian Guru and philosopher. Adi Shankara was born in Kalady which is situated in Kerala.

Shankaracharya is one of the greatest icons of #SanatanaDharma.

By the age of thirty-two, he left his body, but in those twenty years from the age of twelve to thirty-two, he crisscrossed India a few times, north to south, east to west, from Kerala right up to Badrinath and back, travelling everywhere in all directions. The man must have been a really brisk walker to do so much walking in a short span of life, and in between he produced thousands of pages of literature.
